Upon further review, not sure if that was Tate or new WR Damion Ratley. Either way, Tate didn't participate in the early warmups with Daniel Jones and other receivers (Ratley did for those wondering)

Is who ever we play at the WR & TE positions must create separation or Jones will be destroyed.
They didn't create separation last year... We were one of the lowest in the league if I remember correctly. Jones just needs some protection and needs to protect the ball.

Plenty of folks on BBI were underwhelmed by the depth at WR. Now a dude who’s been on the roster 9 days is your no. 3 WR. Hopefully he’s ready to breakout! If the offense is anything like the Cowboys, the third WR is going to get plenty of targets.

Nothing in the sports media annoys me more than referring to backs & receivers as “weapons.” It sounds so fucking stupid.
What the Giants did at WR this offseason was very odd...or more like what they didn’t do. Didn’t pursue anybody in free agency nor a deep draft knowing the age of Tate, the concussions of Shep and basically injury prone Engram.
Not saying go crazy but might have been prudent to add a body.

I would say pretty damn reliable since he is a friend of Tate's, no?
WRs didn't create a lot of separation last year. Jones was throwing into some incredibly tight windows, even by NFL standards. WRs who can't separate quickly will require Jones to hold the ball longer to wait for them to do so, which is likely to fail against Pittsburgh's defense.

8 YPR is not great, but kind of gets you 1st downs, doesn't it...keep the chains moving
Cowboys were in 11 personnel +70% of the time last year, if that’s any indication of what Garret wants to do here (maybe that was all Moore, but it was pretty damn effective).
Again, I’m not saying the Giants don’t have other options in the pass game. But there are situations that call for 11 personnel, and tonight the 3rd WR has been on the roster for a week. It’s a big factor. Slayton and Shepard are also not going to play 100% of the snaps in 12 groupings either.

Tate was the most targeted WR on the Giants last year. The only way he’s phased out is if Slayton, Shepard, and Engram are perfectly healthy all year.
