I just re-watched every play tonight. He was on Dupree most of the night, and he shut him down for most of the night. Not saying Dupree didn't make plays, but when he did, it was not on Thomas.
Dupree is an incredible athlete, and made plays up and down the line, especially in the run game, chasing down Barkley behind the line.
But when pass rushing, one-on-one against Thomas, I don't think I saw him win once, or put significant pressure.
That was my take. He looks like the goods.
That and Slayton/Martinez

positive to come out of the game.

Yes, but Thomas was playing against a DPOY candidate.
Bright future for the kid if he builds off tonight’s performance.
Let's not overreact here either. As I said folks are overreacting to Gates, lets not overeact to Thomas.
We played one game.
I still want Penei Sewell to add to this young OL. But we’d have to be as bad as last season - or worse. That would absolutely suck.
He didn't struggle at all against Dupree or Watt. And Dupree was more a factor in run plays. In fact, I thought they over hyped Dupree.
I thought Andrews handle speed rushes easily. And while Fleming did struggle a bit, I did not think he was awful. Pass pro was pretty good. Run blocking may have been worse than last year...no, it was worse.
Yes, in the 1st half they were running a blitz he didn't recognize which left Dupree open (he helped out Hernandez instead). Once they cleaned that up at halftime Thomas was fine

Andrew Thomas impresses in his debut against one of the best defensive lines in the NFL and was the Giants highest graded OL last night.
