Is that a new rule? I thought if executed cleanly a pick play is legal. Unless it’s just always been illegal and teams have been getting away with it for years? .... I mean particularly if the defender runs into his own man it’s definitely legal, right? Though idk how often that happens when they run it. I thought it was legal either way as long as there’s no clear and obvious OPI (shoving or real
forcible contact).
looked like Keystone Kops . Disappointed that the Giants handled those so poorly . It looks like the DBs wanted to switch on the receivers but weren’t sure . The DB coach has work to do but it’s evident that he only has maybe 2 guys who can cover .
Running two receivers near each other to disrupt the defense isn't illegal. The WR blocking the DB is illegal. The play where Bradbury and either Ballentine or Holmes ran into each other was completely legal.
Is similar to the basketball pick - when the blocking player actively and deliberately moves to obstruct the defending player to freely execute his defensive path.
Ballentine & Holmes are rookies and not familiar with the wiley ways of the NFL, Bradberry is an "old hand", no excuse for him.
forcible contact).
A pick play requests one of the WRs actively trying to create contact with a DB.
Yes the pick is supposed to be illegal, but only if one of the WRs contacts the DBs without actually trying to run a route.
Bunch plays are picks.
Now they have something to work on this week.

Bradberry actually played well. Ballentine was giving up the crossing & comeback routes all night.

Totally disagree on Bradberry. Towards the end Ballentine was def losing it.
