Implementing a brand new scheme with 14 practices and zero preseason games we didn’t have players looking at each other confused. Still have work to do, but I thought D was better than expected for at least the first three quarters.
I wasn't huge on the signing, but Martinez played way better than Ogletree. Ogletree had a giant fork sticking out of his back, though he did at times have a tendency to have the football IQ to be in the right place at the right time. Martinez seems to have a knack for that also, but isn't drained of his athletic ability.
was refreshing to watch after previous years linebacker play. I'm pretty excited he is on our team. Team & coach seem to respect the guy and he probably has a bit of a chip on his shoulders after how he was viewed in Green Bay.
Antonio Pierce and that's who Martinez reminds me of. Pierce was never as good as some here thought but he QB'd a Super Bowl defense. We'd all sign up for that.

what was a stark contrast from last year to this year is the lack of communication breakdowns. The flip side of that is most of the plays given up were just poor technique or coverage skills
looked like the best linebacker of all time compared to Ogletree. This is a massive, massive, massive upgrade over what we had. Hopefully will prove to be a really awesome signing.

Between him and Bethea last year, we were playing 11-9.

Martinez has the instincts and knows what he is doing. He looks so much better Than Ogletree ever did as a Giant even at 1 game
