Hey Dan, long time no see. Hope you’re well. All’s good here
Fleming was brutal, and Hernandez still looks overmatched too often at this level. This unit has work to do, and we should already realize that the OL at this level needs to work with a ton of cohesion and it takes a lot of reps to build it.
yeah, the line is still a work in progress. Are you happy we appear to have out LT of the future or no? Do you know what we have in Peart yet? Is it possible the line improves as these guys get more playing time?

Things are going well! Glad to hear all is good on your end as well. Hope you and yours are enjoying the nice fall weather and the actual return of football (which I genuinely did not think was going to happen).
I read here daily and pop in occasionally. The overreactions are always a joy.
he looked good, beyond that the o-line was rag dolled. dline still can't get to the qb. dg had 3 yrs. time to retire.
Wtf? Tge DL had a solid game. The steelers couldnt run for shit until the game went on they got gassed.
Williams had a sack and so did lawerence. What more did you want? The DL is the strength of defense.
As for the OL. Thomas looked very good when you consider first game, limited prep time due to covid, new OL, great def front. Gates firsr game at center, does he get time to learn and improve? Fleming struggled some but its a new OL, it takes time to gel, they are young.

For the DL, the Steelers still gained 141 yards on us.

60 minutes or 3 years? cmon now...same problems every yr.
Hernandez still looks overmatched too often at this level.
That's very concerning after what, two years playing every down.
I am beginning to think we missed on that draft pick. He's no Chris Snee, and that's what I was expecting.
Hernandez is in year 3. He physically looks the part. Constantly changing the guys who line up on his left and right could be part of the issue. But you are right, I was also hoping to see more from him. Let’s see what he is come year’s end...
which means the talent was close to good enough to hang with a good team last night. How do I know this? Because the Giants were about to take the lead late in the 3rd quarter and would have already had a lead if not for some mistakes in the first half.
Relax. Not every game needs to be a referendum around here.

this isn't 3 years ago. some of you are going to be miserable all year long because this team sucked in 2015?
Time to move on. The Giants are making every effort to rebuild this thing right. I know they sucked. I've paid good money to see this team suck in person, and I have moved on. We all should.

Only Hernandez has been on this line for three years. Do you actually believe repeated shuffles is going to fix this problem?
Thomas is going to be a stud LT, Hernandez and Zeitler are solid and consistent guards, Fleming is a solid bridge to Peart (potentially) and Gates is literally a first-time center.
Did anyone actually expect them to come out and dominate the league's best front 7 in their literal first game as a unit?
considering that two of those hog mollies" were just drafted and still (like nearly all rookies) need development time to even make it into the lineup.
before the years out. I think that will be the line going into next year, with Zeitler not resigned and Fleming becoming the swing Tackle. Gates is still a work in progress. He’s got a long way to go and if he isn’t the answer then the Giants will have to get a Center to complete the line transformation. I still think Hernandez is good enough. He’s never going to a Pro Bowl, but he’s a good enough Guard.
