If you don't throw two interceptions today,

you're not taking enough chances. - Bill Parcells

Look I hated the INT and we can certainly bitch about the playcall, but the kid is trying to make plays. Daniel Jones is a playmaker, did you see that kid yesterday? He was throwing lasers out there. He was accurate. He was running for 1st downs. We could have guys like Trubisky or Herbert who are scared to make mistakes, give me the gunslinger.

He's not a fluke. He's not the problem.

Can you imagine what he would have looked like if the Giants could run even a tiny bit? I think he would have carved them up. I'm pro Jones, I think he's headed in the right direction.

I agree he's a keeper

I hope the discussion about taking a QB with our 1st rounder next year will stop. They need talent on Defense and possibly more on OL. Jones is not the problem. HE extended that long drive on his own for at least 5 plays.
I dont think anyone should be crushing Jones.

The INT was a killer but that drive doesn't even happen unless he makes several improvised plays, which he did.

kept that whole drive alive until the end - right now, with zero running game, he has to play "perfect" football with no margin for error. I'm not going to kill him for that one play. It would be nice for the rest of the offense to step up.

As much as I love Barkley - he is going to have to figure out how to create something. Engram really lost me - I'm all for putting in Kaden Smith at this point in the starting role.

It was impressive as hell. 18 play drive down to the goal line.

I think Barkley would be much more likely to make something out of nothing if he could at least take two steps in the backfield without getting contacted

Next week will be a better barometer. Bears have a good D Line but not like the Steelers do.

Backs rarely if ever create anything when they are hit 5 yds behind the LOS.

Maybe Alfred E. Garrett might want to think about using more big packages with Toilolo and Smith, and simpler schemes while the OL tries to gel on the fly.
Why Can't Some Posters Just Admit...

That Jones played well for the most part but the two INTs were HORRIBLE plays that shouldn't have happened.

Jones was trying to make a play you say? All QBs try to make a play. But in that same situation a smart QB would have pulled the ball down and run, thrown it away or even taken the sack. Jones did none of the above and it was a back breaker.

It's OK to acknowledge that the Jones made a dumb play or two last night and not feel you have to make excuses whenever your QB makes a mistake.

It is because people have their own narrative that they want to stick with and cannot admit that two things can be true at the same time.
Jones is our QB and he will be a good one no doubt
SGMen : 9/15/2020 12:46 pm : link
I like Jones well enough. He has the "it" that you need to be a successful NFL QB, especially in NY. His arm is strong enough deep too just not really strong.

In the 2021 draft, if we have a top 10 pick again, it will be for defense, either LB or CB.

We have to hope that Holmes is a starter and Ballantine too. They both need real game reps. We have to hope McKinney comes back the last 7 games and flashes enough to know we have a bonafide starter for 2021. We need Love to progress. Peppers is a limited SS, good at the LOS but limited in open field and coverage at times. More athlete perhaps than football instincts?

Overall, we have core talent. If Peart is the answer at RT and Thomas the answer at LT, we will have a strong OL for 2021. And perhaps Lemiuex even steps up and supplants Hernandez or (gulp) Zeitler in 2021. We just need the young guys to develop and we will have a heck of an offense.

It’s ok to acknowledge he made a big mistake but it’s also ok to acknowledge it’s something that comes with experience which he doesn’t have a lot of. All the greats made all kinds of mistakes like this early in their career what makes them great is they learn from it. Jones will be fine he will learn from this.
