I had an easy victory in theory flip to a loss with Barkley and AJ Brown laying eggs.

So I went 1 - 1.

In my team that won, I have a lot of WR depth and the guy with McCaffrey is considering a trade. He has a terrible team. He reached out to me.

Without me influencing it, if you're interested in adding McCaffrey to my roster what is a fair trade.

My team:
QB: Mahomes, Burrow
RB: Jacobs, Taylor, Sanders, Moss
WR: Moore, McLaurin, Allen, Fuller, Slayton, Boyd, Pittman, Claypool
TE: Andrews, Engram

His team:
QB: Tyrod Taylor, Mayfield
RB: McCaffrey, T. Cohen, LatMur, Conner, Bell, Gio, Kelley
WR: Hilton, Green, Cooks, Ayiuk, Sims, Jefferson
TE: Henry

Is there a match?
That's a rough one...
RC in MD : 9/15/2020 10:35 am : link
I can possibly see a similar value trade at this point with Jacobs being on a high; however, since most people put value trades secondary to emotional attachment trades, you probably won't be able to get CMC unless you go Jacobs and Moore for CMC and Ayuik or another mid-low tier WR. He may think that CMC is worth a kings ransom at this point, which means that you'll most likely have to give up even more.
I think you will have to give him Sanders and Moss at least
MadPlaid : 9/15/2020 10:35 am : link
Or, you can stand pat and hope you have something special in Taylor, Jacobs and Sanders. Your RBs are pretty stacked as is.

I was thinking Moore, Sanders (or preferably Taylor) and Keenan Allen for McCaffrey and a throw in.

Is that way off?
Jacobs and Moore is what I'd ask for
UConn4523 : 9/15/2020 10:44 am : link
at least. No point giving up CMC for anything less in that scenario. And I'm not even crazy about Moore, you can argue him being 3rd in the passing game depending on gameflow.

So if it were me I'd rather Jacobs + Taylor.
This is what I sent to an owner with a decent pair of WR...
RC in MD : 9/15/2020 10:45 am : link
and a stable of RBs. He has a totally stacked team. Crazily he lost last night on the last TD reception by Juju, and I scored the most points for the week (weekly payout for high scoring team).

I give: J.Jones and C.Akers

He gives: C.Carson and M.Gallup

He has:
QB - D.Brees, C.Wentz
RB - M.Sanders, A.Kamara, A.Peterson, T.Coleman,
WR - C.Godwin, R.Woods, C.Samuels, R.Cobb, B.Perriman
TE - Z.Ertz, M.Gesicki

This is a .5PPR league with two FLEX positions.
I went 2-1 yesterday
UConn4523 : 9/15/2020 10:46 am : link
Barkley killed me lastnight as did going against JuJu. But I had JuJu in the other 2 leagues I got wins in so it is what it is I guess. Really hate doing mutliple teams for this reason, haha.

I would recommend listening to Eric on Li. He gave me intriguing advise over the weekend about setting my lineup. I had to figure out who to start in Sutton's place. I had Preston Williams and Darius Slayton. I went with Williams. He indicated that was probably the right play, but he also pointed out that if I was considered to be the underdog, it might be wise to just go for it, and take a flyer on Slayton. His potential to create something awesome was there.

Unfortunately, I took the safe play and started Williams. And as we all saw last night, if I did start Slayton, I would have benefited from his great game, and won. It happens.

So, take my advise, listen to Eric. He is wise beyond his years.

I was looking at his WRs, so that's why I put Moore in there, especially since people are high on him. However, Jacob and Taylor is definitely more rich in terms of what the CMC owner can get. But yes, there's no reason for him to give up CMC for anything less than a huge ransom.
I see 3 trade options
Eric on Li : 9/15/2020 10:48 am : link
1- Mahomes for CMC. You may need to add in Fuller or Allen too - either would start on his team. This is probably the one that he'd be most likely to do because it gets him back a high profile big name player. I'd do it if I were you because it's a lot easier to find another good QB week to week than CMC, but it wouldn't be my starting point. If all else failed the ace in the whole would be "what if I put Mahomes on the table?". I like Burrow too.

2- Most traditional simple 2 for 1 including Jacobs and one of your top 3 WRs. When I think about it I don't know if I'd prefer to trade Mahomes or Jacobs so depending on scoring, it could go either way. I don't have an enormously strong feeling between McLaurin, Allen, or Moore - I think they are all borderline WR 1 talents but more likely to be WR2's because I don't like their QB's/offenses.

3- the ripoff. A 2 or 3 for 1 without Jacobs or Mahomes. Andrews, Moore, Taylor or Sanders for CMC + Henry maybe gets him thinking. I'm not a huge believer in Andrews being elite so this would obviously be the home run deal because it allows you to start your roster every week with Mahomes/Jacobs/CMC then ride the hot hand at TE/WR.
I made a collosal fuck up
Sonic Youth : 9/15/2020 10:49 am : link
that I knew at the time by drafting Ekeler over Jacobs even though I talked Jacobs up all year and was a huge believer in him. Looks like it's gonna be a terrible decision.

But anyway, the advice I was looking to get was about my 14 team. My co-manager and I drafted James Connor at the top of the 2nd round, which looks to be a terrible decision. We grabbed Antonio Robinson late which I think will eventually bear some fruit (it's PPR), but the waiver wire is bare and Connor will probably be out for a bit (and is unreliable).

There's an RB on Miami, Myles Gaskin, who had a decent game who's a FA (we use FAAB). Wondering if anyone has any deep league RB sleepers who flashed that people could recommend.
Picking 10th in my 12 team league
mfsd : 9/15/2020 10:51 am : link
my first 4 picks were Lamar Jackson, Davante Adams, Juju Smith-Schuster, David Johnson

Scorched my opponent for 153 pts (Saints D helped too), first in the league through week 1

My RBs are still very thin (my RB 2 was Devin Montgomery, with Fournette and Tarik Cohen on the bench)...putting in some waiver claims today at RB.

It's only week 1, not sure the advice was that great but appreciate the compliment. I actually lost to Slayton last night too ironically.
I went 3-1...

Easily won two games in which R.Wilson and D.Adams (have them in both leagues) totally rocked it. Eeked out a win last night when D.Hamilton didn't do shit for my opponent when C.Sutton had to be benched. I had P.Mahomes and Kelce in that one and the one I lost (I also had E.Elliott in a standard league that I lost).

Still it was good point, and I just wish I took it more to heart. I was the underdog, and I didn't really have much to lose by taking the chance. Caution ended up biting me. Go figure.

Best of luck to you

That is true. I have not forgotten.
I would not give up CMC for Mahomes
UConn4523 : 9/15/2020 11:03 am : link
I wouldn't do it for any QB - unless Mahomes comes with atleast Taylor, probably Sanders.

His QB situation is shit but giving players away sucks. I'd rather not make the playoffs then feed other teams to be much much better than they already are.

Knee jerk trades after 1 game almost never work out for the team giving up the bigger value.
I should have mentioned
pjcas18 : 9/15/2020 11:07 am : link
(sorry) this league has 6 pts per passing TD, PPR and is a keeper league that we just reset this year with new keeper rules - you can't keep a player drafted in the first 4 rounds and after that you can only keep a player twice - first year the player is kept in the round drafted, second year is a 4th round pick.

So, that team with McCaffrey is looking for keeper potential players and since his team doesn't look great and he doesn't have a ton of keeper options he'd be more interested in dealing McCaffrey to help his team long-term.

But he still won't give him away.
I feel like this is a sneaky week 1 waivers w/o any obvious targets
Eric on Li : 9/15/2020 11:09 am : link
At least any worthy of a big chunk of FAAB.

Robby Anderson is available and seems the most tempting for me. he has familiarity with that coaching staff, is a proven big play guy, and they should be playing from behind a lot.

Scotty Miller is also available and interesting, he not only has a connection with Brady but has some real explosiveness.

Valdez Scantling is also out there.

Corey Davis will probably be a popular name and I was actually able to snake him last night when Sutton was ruled out and became eligible for IR.

bennie Snell and Chase edmonds seem like the best RB options. Maybe Myles Gaskin.

Snell looked good and Conner is always hurt, so I think I'm leaning towards putting in $10+ offers on him and Anderson. But seems like a lot less name targets than other years after week 1.

Got it - so who would be his best keeper target? Jacobs, Sanders, or Taylor probably?

I'd probably try to leverage 1 of those guys as the appealing keeper target along with 1 or 2 other pieces (Andrews, WR's) and would prefer to not do Jacobs but would relent if that's what it took. CMC is PPR is just too high of an upside for 1 slot.
No
pjcas18 : 9/15/2020 11:22 am : link
Jacobs, Sanders, and Taylor are not keeper eligible - I drafted them 1, 2 and 4 respectively.

I'd need to include one of them to make the trade, but he'd want Zack Moss or Claypool or Pittman I guess - someone like that would be keeper eligible.
Crazy stupid or crazy like a fox?
Milton : 9/15/2020 11:25 am : link
Trade Michael Thomas for Patrick Mahomes (in a PPR league with 4 points for TD pass). Thomas has a high ankle sprain that they are downplaying, but we all know the truth about high ankle sprains. Look what it did to Barkley's season.

My other WRs are Davante Adams, OBJ, CeeDee Lamb, and Davante Parker (hamstring), but Sammy Watkins and Darius Slayton are available on waivers and I'm confident I will get one of the two. My current QB is Deshaun Watson who is highly regarded, but I just don't trust him. Last year I won a championship because I had Mahomes and my opponent had Watson. And once I get Mahomes I can probably find a trading partner for Watson.

What do you think? Is now the time to get what I can for Michael Thomas or am I panicking too soon. High ankle sprains ruin seasons.
no point in doing that trade
UConn4523 : 9/15/2020 11:30 am : link
if you keep Watson so unless you include him and get more than Mahomes back, or have another trade lined up to offload Watson or Mahomes, I don't see a point.

In a PPR? I don't think so. While I have Mahomes in two of my leagues as well, if I had a choice between Thomas and Mahome, I would have selected Thomas 10 out of 10 times, especially if I was guaranteed Watson as my QB. Whos is your WR2?
As far as waiver claims go...
RC in MD : 9/15/2020 11:41 am : link
I basically put in bids/claims for N.Hines ($15), B.Snell ($10), and M.Brown ($5) (in some varying combos) in all of the leagues that they were available.

And I stream my D, so I dropped the Eagles D and put in a claim for Cardinals D.
i'd keep thomas
Eric on Li : 9/15/2020 11:42 am : link
most solid teams make the playoffs and the end of the season is all that actually matters. Build the best team for that. Mahomes is an elite QB so it's close and you have good WR's, so my main issue with trading Thomas now would more be that you are selling low than trading him in a deal for Mahomes when you already have a solid QB. The difference between the QB'S is not nearly the difference between Thomas and almost every other WR, so there'd have to be another appealing player coming along.

Oh man...I would most definitely keep that 1-2 punch of elite pass catchers and a potential top 5 QB. That can be a recipe for success even if Thomas may be sidelined for a little bit.

Similarly, R.Wilson - D.Adams - J.Jones combo is my key in my league.

Fantasy doesn't work like that. Fair value is two fold. Is the trade itself "fair" between two teams and does the trade help you. I don't believe this helps you unless you move a QB.

Sure its a trade that shouldn't be rejected, so its "fair". I get trying to sell on Thomas over injury concerns - too premature for me personally but if you want to then go for it. But like I said, could bite you in the ass when you can only start 1 QB.

C.Davis did look good yesterday. But my fear with C.Davis is that I'm not sure if he or A.Brown will be the #1 this season.

Yeah, same here.

I had Corey Davis last year and he was a no show all year, with AJ Brown seemingly passing him on the depth chart,.

So I have AJ Brown in my other league and of course Davis goes off. this league our benches are big so I will add and hold him (if I win the bid - not bidding a ton)

Thoughts on Dallas Goedert (available on my wire)?

Here's the thing, my TEs currently are Ertz and Jared Cook.

I don't think I can drop Ertz, and I love Cook in that offense in New Orleans, and if Michael Thomas misses time, I think Cook has additional value.

That said, Goedert had what, 9 targets? I think Wentz has a rapport with him, I don't have another drop candidate on my roster, what would you guys do?

Maybe find the Evan Engram owner, lol.

D.Goedert is also available in my league, and I have T.Higbee. is Goedert an upgrade over Higbee? I don't have any room on my bench (5 slots) with L.Fournette, R.Jones, H.Ruggs, and D.Williams (I have CEH as my starting RB, so he's my insurance)...I'm also reserving an open slot for any of these three N.Hines, B.Snell, or M.Brown that I put in a claim for.

If Goedert is an upgrade, I may sacrifice Ruggs or Williams for him.

He won me a championship last year vs. the Redskins. Only so many elite WR/RBs capable of 20-40 point outbursts from 1 lineup slot.
Davis is an interesting post-hype sleeper and he passed the eye test
Eric on Li : 9/15/2020 12:54 pm : link
yesterday against a decent enough defense. Brown's presence I think helps him because he's going to have winnable coverage situations. I picked him up because he was the only interesting name still available from that game, but with Parker and Sutton banged up I may actually play him.

Had I not picked him up I think he'd have been at the top of my target list with Robbie Anderson and Scotty Miller.

I will have to cut someone once Sutton comes off IR and I think I may keep him over Reager.
Who should I pick up in a .5PPR league?
RC in MD : 9/15/2020 2:07 pm : link
I have D.Adams, A.Green, D.Slayton, and H.Ruggs.

There appears to be a lot of potential pickups in the WR position:

L.Shenault
C.Davis
P.Campbell
S.Watkins
P.Williams
L.Fitzgerald
J.Raeger
G.Tate
M.Valdes-Scantling
A.Lazard

My thought is to drop Ruggs and pick up either Shenault or Davis or even Raeger. I don't trust Watkins to do anything after the first game.
that's a dart throw
Eric on Li : 9/15/2020 2:56 pm : link
I agree with Davis and Shenault at the top of the list because I'd want to go for upside with the younger potential breakout players than a lower upside vet. Davis has a track record with a strong career YPC and he almost hit 1k yards a few years ago with a crappy QB. He's a big WR target who looked good yesterday and maybe things click for him with Tannehill like they did with Parker and Fitzpatrick last year. Not sure if I'm talking myself into him or you but he did look real good yesterday and he had a good game in the AFC championship last year too. Shenault is probably in the offense that will pass a little bit more and they are already scheming ways to get him the ball (wild cat, runs, slot wr) but may be more gameplan dependent week to week vs. a reliable every down outside WR. Kind of like Hardman last year in the Chiefs offense. Or Deebo on the 49ers.

Reagar may have the biggest opportunity to get a big role since philly needs a go to WR so he's got big upside but unlike the others I don't know if he's playable yet (but I guess all these guys have low floors and I don't think you'd need to start the player you pickup now). I could also see him having a similarly unreliable season to Hollywood Brown last year, mostly being reliant on the deep ball. Preston Williams may have the most target potential on the list but he didn't look so great vs. the Pats, off the injury not sure if he's fully back yet.

with the GB receivers it wouldn't shock me if either ended up being the player to get and finishing the year with a top 20 season - but good luck picking whichever it is. And there's probably a better chance they rotate good games and are impossible to predict.

All great points. I'm leaning towards L.Shenault to see what they work up for him. I don't need to start him now since D.Adams, A.Green, and D.Slayton are my three right now.
in the BBI keeper league

every player is a keeper and roster spots and contract years are pretty precious. I had Slayton on my PS was hoping to sneak him through another year but if another owner bids on him they can bid cyber money and a default first round rookie pick in 2021. Picks are nice, but I couldn't risk getting poison pilled so I just promoted him. Gave him a five year contract at the expense of virtually all my contract room, but I need a long term WR, and Slayton looks terrific.

Coll story bro I know. Basicallyjust happy that Slayton looks so good. He's now my 4th WR behind Adams, Hop and Lockett but moving up fast.
Waiver claims

How would you rank the following players for PPR.

I lost Mack for the season, and wanted to grab some depth at the position even though I am set with Jones, Sanders and Taylor.

Thinking of grabbing Robinson from Jags. I should be ok at WR (Jones, Green, Parker (injured), Slayton and Reagor). Thoughts? Rank the following:

Lat Murray
Robinson
M. Brown
C. Davis
R. Anderson
J. Kelley

Are any of these players worth grabbing with my #3 claim or wait it out?
