I had an easy victory in theory flip to a loss with Barkley and AJ Brown laying eggs.
So I went 1 - 1.
In my team that won, I have a lot of WR depth and the guy with McCaffrey is considering a trade. He has a terrible team. He reached out to me.
Without me influencing it, if you're interested in adding McCaffrey to my roster what is a fair trade.
My team:
QB: Mahomes, Burrow
RB: Jacobs, Taylor, Sanders, Moss
WR: Moore, McLaurin, Allen, Fuller, Slayton, Boyd, Pittman, Claypool
TE: Andrews, Engram
His team:
QB: Tyrod Taylor, Mayfield
RB: McCaffrey, T. Cohen, LatMur, Conner, Bell, Gio, Kelley
WR: Hilton, Green, Cooks, Ayiuk, Sims, Jefferson
TE: Henry
Is there a match?
I was thinking Moore, Sanders (or preferably Taylor) and Keenan Allen for McCaffrey and a throw in.
Is that way off?
So if it were me I'd rather Jacobs + Taylor.
I give: J.Jones and C.Akers
He gives: C.Carson and M.Gallup
He has:
QB - D.Brees, C.Wentz
RB - M.Sanders, A.Kamara, A.Peterson, T.Coleman,
WR - C.Godwin, R.Woods, C.Samuels, R.Cobb, B.Perriman
TE - Z.Ertz, M.Gesicki
This is a .5PPR league with two FLEX positions.
Unfortunately, I took the safe play and started Williams. And as we all saw last night, if I did start Slayton, I would have benefited from his great game, and won. It happens.
So, take my advise, listen to Eric. He is wise beyond his years.
So if it were me I'd rather Jacobs + Taylor.
I was looking at his WRs, so that's why I put Moore in there, especially since people are high on him. However, Jacob and Taylor is definitely more rich in terms of what the CMC owner can get. But yes, there's no reason for him to give up CMC for anything less than a huge ransom.
2- Most traditional simple 2 for 1 including Jacobs and one of your top 3 WRs. When I think about it I don't know if I'd prefer to trade Mahomes or Jacobs so depending on scoring, it could go either way. I don't have an enormously strong feeling between McLaurin, Allen, or Moore - I think they are all borderline WR 1 talents but more likely to be WR2's because I don't like their QB's/offenses.
3- the ripoff. A 2 or 3 for 1 without Jacobs or Mahomes. Andrews, Moore, Taylor or Sanders for CMC + Henry maybe gets him thinking. I'm not a huge believer in Andrews being elite so this would obviously be the home run deal because it allows you to start your roster every week with Mahomes/Jacobs/CMC then ride the hot hand at TE/WR.
But anyway, the advice I was looking to get was about my 14 team. My co-manager and I drafted James Connor at the top of the 2nd round, which looks to be a terrible decision. We grabbed Antonio Robinson late which I think will eventually bear some fruit (it's PPR), but the waiver wire is bare and Connor will probably be out for a bit (and is unreliable).
There's an RB on Miami, Myles Gaskin, who had a decent game who's a FA (we use FAAB). Wondering if anyone has any deep league RB sleepers who flashed that people could recommend.
Scorched my opponent for 153 pts (Saints D helped too), first in the league through week 1
My RBs are still very thin (my RB 2 was Devin Montgomery, with Fournette and Tarik Cohen on the bench)...putting in some waiver claims today at RB.
Unfortunately, I took the safe play and started Williams. And as we all saw last night, if I did start Slayton, I would have benefited from his great game, and won. It happens.

It's only week 1, not sure the advice was that great but appreciate the compliment. I actually lost to Slayton last night too ironically.

I would actually take my advice instead since I'm pretty awesome during the regular season...;)
Best of luck to you
His QB situation is shit but giving players away sucks. I'd rather not make the playoffs then feed other teams to be much much better than they already are.
Knee jerk trades after 1 game almost never work out for the team giving up the bigger value.
So, that team with McCaffrey is looking for keeper potential players and since his team doesn't look great and he doesn't have a ton of keeper options he'd be more interested in dealing McCaffrey to help his team long-term.
But he still won't give him away.
Robby Anderson is available and seems the most tempting for me. he has familiarity with that coaching staff, is a proven big play guy, and they should be playing from behind a lot.
Scotty Miller is also available and interesting, he not only has a connection with Brady but has some real explosiveness.
Valdez Scantling is also out there.
Corey Davis will probably be a popular name and I was actually able to snake him last night when Sutton was ruled out and became eligible for IR.
bennie Snell and Chase edmonds seem like the best RB options. Maybe Myles Gaskin.
Snell looked good and Conner is always hurt, so I think I'm leaning towards putting in $10+ offers on him and Anderson. But seems like a lot less name targets than other years after week 1.

Got it - so who would be his best keeper target? Jacobs, Sanders, or Taylor probably?
I'd probably try to leverage 1 of those guys as the appealing keeper target along with 1 or 2 other pieces (Andrews, WR's) and would prefer to not do Jacobs but would relent if that's what it took. CMC is PPR is just too high of an upside for 1 slot.
I'd need to include one of them to make the trade, but he'd want Zack Moss or Claypool or Pittman I guess - someone like that would be keeper eligible.
My other WRs are Davante Adams, OBJ, CeeDee Lamb, and Davante Parker (hamstring), but Sammy Watkins and Darius Slayton are available on waivers and I'm confident I will get one of the two. My current QB is Deshaun Watson who is highly regarded, but I just don't trust him. Last year I won a championship because I had Mahomes and my opponent had Watson. And once I get Mahomes I can probably find a trading partner for Watson.
What do you think? Is now the time to get what I can for Michael Thomas or am I panicking too soon. High ankle sprains ruin seasons.
Quote:
if you keep Watson so unless you include him and get more than Mahomes back, or have another trade lined up to offload Watson or Mahomes, I don't see a point.
But if you removed Watson from the equation, is Mahomes fair value in trade for Michael Thomas with a high ankle sprain?
In a PPR? I don't think so. While I have Mahomes in two of my leagues as well, if I had a choice between Thomas and Mahome, I would have selected Thomas 10 out of 10 times, especially if I was guaranteed Watson as my QB. Whos is your WR2?
And I stream my D, so I dropped the Eagles D and put in a claim for Cardinals D.

Davante Adams.
Oh man...I would most definitely keep that 1-2 punch of elite pass catchers and a potential top 5 QB. That can be a recipe for success even if Thomas may be sidelined for a little bit.
Similarly, R.Wilson - D.Adams - J.Jones combo is my key in my league.

Fantasy doesn't work like that. Fair value is two fold. Is the trade itself "fair" between two teams and does the trade help you. I don't believe this helps you unless you move a QB.
Sure its a trade that shouldn't be rejected, so its "fair". I get trying to sell on Thomas over injury concerns - too premature for me personally but if you want to then go for it. But like I said, could bite you in the ass when you can only start 1 QB.

my league has so many roster spots all those players are rostered.
biggest FA's are Peyton Barber, Corey Davis, and Valdes-Scantling
I may put a bid in on Davis.

The league that I run has seven bench slots and only M.Brown is on a roster of the ones I listed. However, in another league that I'm in, we only have a five bench slots, so all are available.
C.Davis did look good yesterday. But my fear with C.Davis is that I'm not sure if he or A.Brown will be the #1 this season.

Yeah, same here.
I had Corey Davis last year and he was a no show all year, with AJ Brown seemingly passing him on the depth chart,.
So I have AJ Brown in my other league and of course Davis goes off. this league our benches are big so I will add and hold him (if I win the bid - not bidding a ton)
Here's the thing, my TEs currently are Ertz and Jared Cook.
I don't think I can drop Ertz, and I love Cook in that offense in New Orleans, and if Michael Thomas misses time, I think Cook has additional value.
That said, Goedert had what, 9 targets? I think Wentz has a rapport with him, I don't have another drop candidate on my roster, what would you guys do?

Can you trade one of Cook or Ertz (if you like Goedert better than one)?
Maybe find the Evan Engram owner, lol.
If Goedert is an upgrade, I may sacrifice Ruggs or Williams for him.

most solid teams make the playoffs and the end of the season is all that actually matters. Build the best team for that.
I agree with this philosophy, but will Thomas ever be the same this year? Barkley had the early season high ankle sprain and even when he came back he wasn't the same player.
He won me a championship last year vs. the Redskins. Only so many elite WR/RBs capable of 20-40 point outbursts from 1 lineup slot.
Had I not picked him up I think he'd have been at the top of my target list with Robbie Anderson and Scotty Miller.
I will have to cut someone once Sutton comes off IR and I think I may keep him over Reager.
There appears to be a lot of potential pickups in the WR position:
L.Shenault
C.Davis
P.Campbell
S.Watkins
P.Williams
L.Fitzgerald
J.Raeger
G.Tate
M.Valdes-Scantling
A.Lazard
My thought is to drop Ruggs and pick up either Shenault or Davis or even Raeger. I don't trust Watkins to do anything after the first game.
Reagar may have the biggest opportunity to get a big role since philly needs a go to WR so he's got big upside but unlike the others I don't know if he's playable yet (but I guess all these guys have low floors and I don't think you'd need to start the player you pickup now). I could also see him having a similarly unreliable season to Hollywood Brown last year, mostly being reliant on the deep ball. Preston Williams may have the most target potential on the list but he didn't look so great vs. the Pats, off the injury not sure if he's fully back yet.
with the GB receivers it wouldn't shock me if either ended up being the player to get and finishing the year with a top 20 season - but good luck picking whichever it is. And there's probably a better chance they rotate good games and are impossible to predict.

All great points. I'm leaning towards L.Shenault to see what they work up for him. I don't need to start him now since D.Adams, A.Green, and D.Slayton are my three right now.
Coll story bro I know. Basicallyjust happy that Slayton looks so good. He's now my 4th WR behind Adams, Hop and Lockett but moving up fast.
I lost Mack for the season, and wanted to grab some depth at the position even though I am set with Jones, Sanders and Taylor.
Thinking of grabbing Robinson from Jags. I should be ok at WR (Jones, Green, Parker (injured), Slayton and Reagor). Thoughts? Rank the following:
Lat Murray
Robinson
M. Brown
C. Davis
R. Anderson
J. Kelley
Are any of these players worth grabbing with my #3 claim or wait it out?
