Damn. How can anyone disagree with a word he said? Who had OJ on the 2020 bingo card for excellent football analysis?
But Barkley is soft too. He left that part out. Barkley wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in the 1970s NFL.
Any of you guys ever see OJ in his prime? IMO top 3 RB of all time.
Brown, Sayers, OJ best 3 I've ever seen.
The Bills had a big FB and an excellent OL and OJ was magic and tough as hell. At USC he was best college football player I ever saw. If had gotten lucky and went to a warm weather team with a good HC and QB he probably would have set records that would never be broken.
But that was before he murdered two people in cold blood and got away with it.
My post made me go look up Earl Campbell highlights on Youtube.
What I learned was that he ran through guys and stiff armed many in an effort to get to the outside ( where there is less traffic and more space to run un-opposed for longer).

Definitely not DNA that's for sure.
In fact, it is a pretty damn accurate barometer.

Give me an example of Barkley being a "tough" runner. Or a tough blocker.
I'm waiting. One example.
Calling him "soft" is as stupid as the "china doll" bullshit that needs to die.
You play RB for a living you're not soft. Period.
He can say what he wants, the man has no conviction
Want to try that 300 plus times in 6 months for a couple of years?
Soft and NFL RB do not go together. What degrees of crash or wiggle deployed per running style is not about tough.
Is Barkley a battering ram a la Earl Campbell or The Bus? No
Neither was Walter Payton. Was he tough or soft?

So yeah - soft
