Report: Bears WR Allen Robinson asks for trade

ryanmkeane : 9/15/2020 4:39 pm
Per PFT via Chicago Tribune, Apparently he scrubbed all of his Bears info from social media as well, and has asked to be traded. Something to monitor for Sunday.
Doesn't seem like a Joe
Jon in NYC : 9/15/2020 4:44 pm : link
Judge kinda guy, but he's a great player as long as he's healthy. Probably wouldn't give up trade capital unless they could work out an extension though and he definitely wants to get paid.
....
BleedBlue : 9/15/2020 4:49 pm : link
it be nice if he doesnt play sunday but as for us as a trading partner, nah. now if a big time corner does this, i am SO game.

I think a better corner opposite bradberry would have changed the game yesterday. ballentine was picked on ALOT on third down.
Until the Oline and Defense are fixed

I don't want to consider trading draft picks for veteran skill players.

The foundation of the team needs to be in good working order before adding more "glitter." They tried this before (e.g. OBJ 1st rnd pick) and we've seen the losing continue.

Let's build for the long-term (i.e. Defense and Oline) and add skill players either through the draft or only when they'll be the difference in winning championships.
Wonder..

if Anakim looks at him as a #1.

Judge may want to confer with him before recommending any moves....

Leave Anak alone you murdering bastid!
He's not a guy
ryanmkeane : 9/15/2020 4:56 pm : link
I'd trade much for considering we have embraced the rebuild, but he is a really good player. He's a killer on 3rd down.
I really like Robinson
UConn4523 : 9/15/2020 5:00 pm : link
but his deal is up this year so he's a 1 year rental unless you want to also pay him big money. I'm good with Slayton and building from there.
first
pjcas18 : 9/15/2020 5:00 pm : link
Giants are not a team in the right phase of contention to trade for a $15M WR in the final year of his deal, and second I don't think the Giants have the cap space, and third he's way overpaid.
He’s a very good player
Jay on the Island : 9/15/2020 5:06 pm : link
But the Giants should refrain from trading picks for high priced players when they are a year away from competing. If Robinson was younger and locked up for multiple years I would consider it but with his contract expiring it makes no sense for the Giants to trade for him.

You don't think Gettleman would give up trade capital to acquire a player who's a free agent after the season?

Lol, fair point. But let's not repeat past mistakes.

Seeing that, it will be hard for him not to pull the trigger.
Someone please hurry and disconnect Gettleman’s

Nothing wrong with that if the price is low enough. The issue with the last guy was that the price was too high — you don't want to pay both picks and a lot of cap room for the same guy.
Robinson’s probably dissatisfied with the Bears contract
cosmicj : 9/15/2020 5:43 pm : link
Offer. He’s going to want a lot of $. No way should the Giants be interested. The Colts may be a good fit.
Whatever money would be put towards AR,
Big Blue '56 : 9/15/2020 5:51 pm : link
should be put towards signing LW long term
Another WR bitching
LBH15 : 9/15/2020 5:52 pm : link
Just feels like Larry Fitzgerald was the only “star” WR in recent times that wasn’t a pain in the ass.

Because I want LW here long term and I don’t want to waste money on this guy, especially since he’ll be a FA next season. I feel better we put resources towards the D in general and LW in particular.
Rob is a good player
ChicagoMarty : 9/15/2020 6:19 pm : link
but he wants to be paid like he is a great player.

Bears management looks at him as a good player.

I don't see this getting resolved any time soon.
I don't want him.
KWALL2 : 9/15/2020 6:23 pm : link
If the Bears are trading WRs I'd much rather trade for Anthony Miller.

Why the Colts? They have Campbell who was a high pick amd played well on Sunday. They still have Hitlon (not a fan, didn't play well). They just drafted Pittman who most loved. They have weapons. I can think of many more teams than the Colts. How about Washington or Philly? Philly doesn't have the cap room but have a huge need. What about Green Bay? They need someone else. Yes, Lazard and MVS had good games but they are no Robinson. SF needs help. They have guys but they're all banged up.

I don’t want to waste money on either free agent next season.

Good points, but surprised you don’t like Hilton. To me he’s is the essence of tough and has been a great player (has also won me a bunch of $ in fantasy over the years, so maybe I’m biased lol).
