hard-nosed, blue collar, lunch-pail, etc. as Judge comes off, I get the impression that he's going to be a 'player's coach.'
The tone of the presser was all about how he's there to support and teach, how this guy did well, how this other guy played his heart out... Don't think he really had a negative thing to say about a player or unit.
I'm definitely down on the talent-level of the team, but I think they're going to get a lot out of the talent that they have.

We haven't seen him coach more than one game but he seems to do a great job of balancing being a player's coach and a hardass.

He also had a calm, even sideline demeanor. That's important for a leader when the bullets are flying.
There were plenty of signs of encouragement with some downer reality updates sprinkled in . They still might have only one starting caliber DB on the current roster . So Judge needs time , which he will receive .
Meanwhile over the last 81, Giants 29-52. But Judge only has1 of those losses . Temper your frustration for things past . He’s just starting out. Hope he gets his first W this week . It would help immensely .

Based on preseason hype it seems like he probably rips into them behind closed doors but showing the respect of keeping bullshit out of the media. I hope I’m right cuz that’s a great style in my opinion but it’s only 1 game, who knows. I agree with everything else you said.
He’s not a schmuck. One of the things I was most worried about was the HC. Would the stage be too big for him? It is not. Would the Giants be ready? They were. Would they play hard? They did. Would the scheme be good? It was. Would the coaches make adjustments? They did. He was good in the post game presser (and it anyone thinks that’s easy they’re just flat out wrong).
He’s done a good job so far. Long season ahead. Way too soon to tell if the Judge will be a good HC or a champion. But he’s not a schmuck. I think we may have a real head coach here now.
The opening loss was disappointing but not unexpected.
With every loss, the Giants' poor personnel decisions since 2011 (and arguably even a couple of years before then) become more glaring. Coaching has shifted from a Hall of Fame head coach to a young up-and-comer to the latest offensive guru and now to a complete rookie, all with the same poor results.
It's telling that the 6-10 for which Coughlin got fired would be considered a sign of improvement now.
I have high hopes that Judge is the guy to bring a winning culture back to this franchise, but the team still has a long way to go. Bad decisions for the past decade have a cumulative effect.

I agree 100% We should fire the Senior Vice President of Player Personnel who stared that job in 2011 right when this frachise started to go downhill
. OH WAIT IT IS Chris Mara .. HE CAN'T BE FIRED
Nepotism at it's finest .. Giants might have the worst owners in the league now

Now let’s go beat the Bears.
