Seems like a Patrick Graham type of player, capable of playing multiple positions, high motor, high effort guy. I've never noticed him before so I thought he was overrated, but not after last night.
It will be interesting to see what the Steelers do next year.
Big Ben is a 41mil cap hit, 22mil if cut.
Conner is FA
Juju FA
Alejandro Villanueva their LT is a FA
Chris Wormley DT
plus a bunch of other role players.
Right now they are projected to be 16.8 mil over the cap. Big Ben is a big reason for that, so if they want to create space they have lots of variables there. But still, that's a lot of star players to sign in one year, with not a lot of money. If i was them i would prioritize Dupree, but they may not. There would be heavy interest from other teams, might have be make a trade like (Dee Ford, Frank Clark).
Something to keep an eye on as the season progress.
Bud Dupree isn't a guy I want to pay top dollar for, let alone give up a pick for as well. I'm not sure how he'd do on a lesser talented team - maybe 80% production? He isn't a game wrecker in the mold of Donald, Mack, Watt (peak), etc. I'd rather have Watt but no shot he becomes available.
this, IMO it's too risky to bet on him being a great player when offenses focus on him rather than TJ Watt.
Carter is entering his 3rd year and 24. Ximines is entering his 2nd year and is 23. Even Leonard Wiliams is entering his 6th year and is 26.
