4 games back of Rays in the East
Home field probably means less this year than any other, but I still think the Yanks have an advantage at the Stadium, especially against the Twins
Shaping up as likely we play the Twins in round 1, unless something really changes with about 10-13 games left per team. If Yanks let the Jays pass them again for 2nd in the East, we’re most likely playing opening round at Tampa, Chicago, or Oakland as the 7 or 8 seed
They mentioned on the broadcast last night that Stanton would be sitting today. They want to (as you put it) ease him back into the lineup.
Just get everybody healthy and ready for the playoffs.
If you know you are going to be sitting Stanton one of the 2 nights, why would you not sit him last night and play him against Roark today who he has power against historically.
8 for 36 (only .222 average, but still better than Sanchez)
Of the 8 hits, he's got 4 HR, a double and 6 RBI, along with 4 walks
Sanchez is 1-4 off Roark with a single and a walk and no RBIs

I guess they're easing the guys in. But, the lineup will look better with Stanton and Torres.

Thanks. Missed yesterday's game. It was a pleasant surprise this morning. :)

The nitpicking has gotten to ludicrous levels. Stanton was just activated yesterday, why would they rest him before he played a game? The idea is to get them in a game and then the next day off to monitor how their injuries handled the workload. They also knew Judge would be back today and in the lineup. And just so you know, they’ve already said they will do the same thing with Judge. He will not be in the lineup tomorrow. Can’t wait to read the comments when he’s not in the lineup tomorrow...

but here is my problem with Boone.

Nitpicking? If you are going to play analytics, then play them, or play both days. They didn't have enough time during today to monitor to see if he wasn't injured?

It was preordained as stated. Stanton is sitting today, then will play two, then sit. Judge is on the same schedule. It is all about having people healthy for a grueling playoff schedule. Torres can play, but they are giving that quad a little extra time. He can pinch hit and go in late if needed. But when they score 20 more tonight, he will not be needed.
I’m scared to death of his free agency, especially with the Yankees taking a revenue hit this year. Hope they don’t get too cute.
Definitely. 23 pitches in one inning isn't a sustainable pace especially giving up those hard hit balls.
Hicks and Boot both almost got one.
3-0, Yanks.
I'd love to smash their bullpen again tonight.

I'd love to see Espinal again tonight but these things have a way of evening out.
Wow, the Yankees are scorching.
GONE
up to .372 with 9 homers. Sneaking into the MVP conversation if he finishes strong.

DJLM with his second - a two runner/ 6-0
