Let's get the pot boiling. I thought he played OK vs Pittsburgh, great defense. The huge drive I was impressed but it was cancelled out with the interception in the redzone, of course. That one is in the past.
Jones saw Chicago last year and I was just curious about what my friends at BBI thought about this upcoming matchup vs another good defense.
Daniel Jones is 3-10 as a starter thus far in his career.
We are BBI.

Jones will not perform up to bbi standards, regardless of the final outcome.

Then I am talking about you and me.
I hope they're not pissed off because of it and take it on him!
This.
But not from me. I wanted them to draft him. I m thrilled with the results and what could be with this kid.
Returns a punt for a TD too
BBI still says we should have drafted Darnold.
I mentioned how well he did up until that point but that mistake was frustrating to see.
Just based on what I saw on TV, I can't fault DJ on the interception. It was a well called play and Slayton had gotten behind the mass of Steelers on the goal line.
Given he had to throw across his body, a QB has to assume he is protected from what at that instant was his blind side. If his arm wasn't tipped that was a TD.

but it shouldn't cancel your opinion of everything that transpired up to that point. He showed steel balls and got caught trying to make a play. I bet Pitt doesn’t allow a drive like that the rest of the year.

One play canceled out the previous 18; which is crazy but true. At the end of the day this is not just about DJ’s progression. In the words of Herm Edwards “you play to win the game”. We need a W this week.
He is not allowed to turn the ball over. EVER!
In fact, he's not allowed to even make a throw that simply results in an incompletion, because the decision is poor.
And if the final stat line doesn't resemble something out of Madden, he's just simply not the guy to be running this ship.

And that punt was as the gunner.......

Interesting take in both posts. I've gone back and forth on whether he attempting to throw it away or whether it was a throw to Slayton. Would have been cool to see him hit Slayton in the back of the end zone.
I think the game itself on the whole is going to be ugly (for both teams).
Yeah. Adding name-calling always facilitates the discussion because ya know, idiots.

Nice.
Prob the same sort of game as last year in Chicago.

So does having a negative take on every single damn thing Spanky
Yeah, I may be a tad annoyed as of "lately."
I just hope we can avoid another good moral victory in the form of another L. You got it, Ralphie. I want a victory as much as you do.
Just trying to get some discussions going. Then, five months later when no one is starting threads, we get those loud echos within the cave wondering where everyone went.
I remember thinking that Denver was going to obliterate the Giants in 2017 and I went to that game. Eli did a nice job of reading the defense until the very last second and you couldn't tell if it was a run or pass and the Giants had some nice runs. Hope we can get into that sort of thing. Run. Run. Run.

You really have to be the single most whiniest bitch on this board...LOL
Mic drop
More than Eli? Also what was Eli s record with this team the prior three years. Some of you are pretty inconsistent when evaluating Jones.
Eli was. Great Giant, but they kept him too long. Thankfully Jones is here now.
the Bears scored 21 in 4th Quarter and got a huge emotional opening day win.
I am nervous about this game
I expect the Bears to have a good defense, and I’d expect them to attack the interior of the Giants line because that’s been their weakness and they have an inexperienced center.
Jones’s performance will be a reflection of how well they can run the ball and how well they can pass protect. The difference between a good and pretty good performance is a few plays. If he’s forced to do it through the air and he’s getting harassed, I expect just an average game.

Oh yeah, he did. Never said he didn't and I told others they were right he was done after 2017, but he's gone now. But... This is 2020, I wanted to get a Jones discussion about this week's game going.

Agree
Evan Engram with a break out game.
Then we smartly trade him on Monday.

Who do you think would want him?
And what (best) offer do you believe the potential trader could give up for him?
Haha most of you guys are 15, 20, 30 something years older than me and just use curse words and name-calling without any salient points to your arguments, as if it's the third grade. It's the same pattern, too: I always see one guy crop up, get mad at me, I say we should talk it out and then...nothing.
I watched their game and Hicks and Mack were pretty quiet. Their secondary seem average (with some promise) and LBers are aging. We match up pretty decently against them

By the way I agree , nothing wrong with your post, good to stir the pot.
Got me going,😄

Somebody will want him. Quite frankly I am so down on him right now I might take anything.
Sadly though, we actually need him as a target with no WRs drafted last spring and Tate injured. But this is on the Judge/coaches to get him involved and productive. Judge gave him plenty of compliments this summer, he wants more team speed and keeps quoting its their job to put guys in roles to make them successful.
So go do it.
Jones really is the least of our worries. Yes we need to know more about Jones and winning big games and moments, but that's really putting the cart before the horse. We know the guy can play. HE's deadly accurate and gutty and smart. The team is another story. How does the OL play? How does Barkely and the running game fare? Critical drops? Hows the D looking next week? Those are the real questions. Jones isn't.
Lets face it, we need to run the ball effectively for Jones to be at his best. Pittsburgh was a tough test and Chicago is only a notch below them so it will be interesting.
