Jacob deGrom exited the game with a right hamstring spasm. That is the best news you will get all night. Could have been far worse.
I don't dislike Rosario but Gimenez has probably has played well enough to give himself the leg up in what is now definitely a battle. In a healthy amount fewer at bats, Gimenez has been the 6th most valuable position player this year behind Conforto, Smith, Mcneil, Nimmo, Cano and 1 of just 3 of those players who also rates positively defensively.
If nothing else he and Peterson are 2 very positive developments this year. And of course Dom's major break out.
I don't think they have any sort of run in them and in a way bowing out quietly would be the fitting end of this era so Cohen can just start fresh with 0 attachments. But always nice to see exciting young players come through to help win games.
Im not a fan of how Rojas has been managing the innings out of the pen. I guess he's got a win now fix it later perspective (which I get) but we just lost Diaz for Friday and Saturday - I think we need to take all three series left to make it (7-3)
But like last year they are an exciting group and an easy team to root for.
Was seeing Familia using the quick pitch two times. It doesn’t fool anyone, and it causes him to miss the strike zone for multiple pitches. It probably messes up his mechanics, although I am only speculating on that. The coaching staff should tell him do not use the quick pitch. The walks given by the relief pitchers is mind boggling.

Still have nightmares about his quick pitch in game 1 2015
