NFT: Apple TV's Ted Lasso

I really did not expect to like this show. I wasn't quite in the mood for a fish out of water comedy, felt the plot was derivative of Major League, and was not amused by the idea of the protagonist making an ass out of himself in cringe-worthy ways every episode.

But by the fourth episode I was absolutely hooked. This show does not go in the direction you expect it to, and ultimately it's something like a comedy version of Friday Night Lights, replete with characters you grow to care about and enjoy seeing with one another.

Highly recommended. Jason Sudeikas does amazing work, but the entire cast is killing it.

I did not expect to like this show, for the reasons you say; and ended up liking it quite a lot, also for the reasons you say. The premise of the show seemed silly but they carry it out so relentlessly in terms of both humor and realism about the world of soccer that it works. I had never heard of Jason S before but he really pulls off the Ted Lasso role, and the other characters are good as well. We've finished all the currently available episodes and are looking forward to another season.

I felt exactly the same way ...
did not think I would like this at all
but definitely winning me over .. sudekius is great
it is reminiscent of a brit com rather than an American sitcom

one thing that is weird is it is a tv comedy but has really high production values

and it has still exceeded my expectations. I normally binge watch series and with this one I am always watching the newest episode every friday.

My wife and I were thinking of watching Lasso. Now we are definitely going to check it out. We’re both Jason S fans.

I'll be disappointed if Rebecca doesn't abandon her scheme, but since it's essentially the series' primary plot device, I'm a bit worried. At this point, after all this development and the legitimate relationships the team has afforded her, it doesn't make much logical or emotional sense for her to pursue her original goal.

Bill Lawrence is the creator of Scrubs. He’s got a good knack for comedy with heart, imo.

How does one access it? Pay per show, subscribe to Apple TV by the month, what?... I don't even use Netflix, as I don't care for many movies, but I'm a big fan of Premier League soccer and liked the Sudeikis character from the ads 6 years ago.

there is package f CBS All Access and SHOWTIME and Apple plus $9.99 a month
which is a great deal
