Thought Higgy earned himself a second start in a row, but I know they’re really trying to get Gary going
But that lineup is WAY more exciting than what we were trotting out a few weeks ago. It's nice to see the numbers show up on the board too. I think one of the things that is clear that the best Yankee lineups always did is there are no breaks. I think it's way different when a pitcher can relax a bit at the bottom of the lineup (you could say a lot of pitchers could relax 5 or 6-9 some nights against us) but the pressure we put on pitchers at full capacity makes a huge difference and I think we've seen that in action. Many of our batters look different, because it's not just the pitchers, putting less pressure on yourself individually to perform. Look at DJLM, when he first came back the team needed him a lot and his at bats just weren't as good, when the mashers come back, i'm sure he's seeing better pitches and also relaxing. I don't think you can say enough either about him being so good on the Yankees and this aspect, he's such a natural hitter, take the pressure off and wow!
I'm OK with them not giving up on Gary, as we've seen what he could do in the past. But at the end of the day, even before this season, Gary has been a .200 hitter the past 2 seasons...albeit with great pop. Now, I don't expect him to get going this season. They can, and should, keep trying though...especially with us getting healthy and having a stacked line-up that is hitting. But with that said, if he hasn't gotten going by the playoffs...enough is enough. We better not see him starting anymore.

Plan is for Stanton to play two days, then off. Judge will be off today and then two days playing. Think they go to three playing days, then off. Sort of easing them into lineup.

looks like Boone’s alternating Judge and Stanton this week to ease them back in, makes sense

Makes sense...let’s try to avoid anymore groin or hammy strains now boys!
Should be good through the game. Maybe in the wee hours.
Let's keep rolling.
12 lashes with a wet noodle....
Did he really friggin say that?
2nd and 3rd, 0 out.
Let's go.

Tanaka is an amphibious pitcher, he gets righties and lefties....

Yep and Paul chuckled
Cannot be stopped, only contained

Lol, yes. He's a treasure.
They don't have him on tonight, at least not yet.. but O'Neill's takes from "Studio 21" are hilarious. The other night he said he spilled gatorade everywhere and had to call in the cleaning crew (aka, his wife) - he was like "ya know, at the stadium, ya just kick the thing under the seat! Can't do that here!"
1-0, Yanks.
Toronto has to be thinking "here we go again"
He's been ringing up Jays on those. But yeah, no that was def inside
DJ never ever says anything
Gary! Gardy! DJ!!!
DJ - boom!
6-3
Holy shit!
LOL - Voit gone!
3 consecutive pitches.
7-3
7!
Whoops! 7-2. Can't count that high.
Holy.
Fucking.
Shit.
Stantonian!
8-2
WHAT THE FUCK!
9-2
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Ludicrous....
I'm so glad i'm blacked out because Toronto owns all of Canada.
...or don't.

Wow, hell of an impressive power display!
I knew I’ve never seen a Yanks HR inning like that in all my life and figured if it wasn’t a record it had to be awfully close to one.
Pretty incredible to see an all time Yankee record set like that one, something not even Murderers Row did.
He finally admitted publicly that his depth perception was effected by the concussions and he was leery of the walls.
Just everybody stay healthy.
Shook it off, but looked as if that hurt. Who wouldn't hurt?

wall. Don't blame him. But needs to get there sooner so he can slow down or get set.

I think he was angry or perplexed at himself for missing it. I think he knew he should have caught that.

Missed this when revealed. Screwed up his depth perception and he's playing? Unreal.
I'll be happy if they catch the Twins so the games will be in the Bronx. After that, they are in the bubble and do not need to play in the Trop...
(Yes catching the smug bastids would be really nice.)
Cannot be healthy for him
Would love it, but the O's capabilities losing won games late cannot be overestimated.

He’s been light years better in the outfield this season. Not a gold glover, but nowhere near the liability he used to be. Pretty remarkable how he handled early season demotion, and came back ready to finally win a full time job
Couple of quips in one of my "What Happened to the Yankees" threads and yesterday game thread.
Has to be the most comfortable I have seen him at the plate. Really focused.

True. Recall he was kind a hothead about screwing up when he did back then. Very pleased that's all in the past now.
6 homers in 3 straight games.
10-3
Nothing wrong with a bloop and a blast. In fact, two bloops and a blast is more better.
El Gary is definitely looking better. Yes that was a cheapie, but he is making contact more and more
Why, they scored 10 runs against the Yanks last week in the 6th inning and even I saw he was safe before the replay.
Play last night was ludicrous to challenge
Never generates confidence.
We're not the only ones Holder keeps awake at night.
Exhale.
When people snipe at Boone these are the things they talk about. He had Green up and warm before putting Ottavino in.
Eight straight. Closing the gap on the Twinkies. Pressuring the Rays..should not have been that close.
But - win is a win.
With a 7 run lead to boot, eh they got the sweep.
On to Beantown. The Sawx have been playing better,
with the cast of characters they have playing.
