He was a Mets prospect years ago. Sort of an interesting one, but never made it up. I knew he was still sort of floating around - didn't realize he was in Boston.
Happ has pitched well recently - and he's got a good track record against the Red Sox, as everyone knows - since we were beaten over the head with that in 2018.
Mazza sucks. No reason not to beat them again.
Also, what's up with JD Martinez? Even when Mookie was there, Martinez was still probably the toughest AB in their lineup and the hardest guy to get out. He has been brutally bad this year. Not sure if he just is totally checked out on this season with how bad the Red Sox are or what. I know he was one of the most vocally opposed to any sort of limited video during games and seemed most bothered by any sort of changes to those rules, maybe that has something to do with it too.

Yeah, IIRC, he is deeply effected by the video rules. Likes to study film between at bats to see what they were doing to him.

As for JD Martinez, maybe he’s finding out it’s harder when they can’t cheat to figure out what pitch is coming? Just a thought...

That's right. Makes me wonder whether they should ban tablets for good. Seems unfair to bring it back if it allows such a competitive advantage.

He got to a ball that is normally through for a hit, so I do not see that as looking bad.
