Fantasy Football 9/19?

Milton : 9/19/2020 6:45 pm
I didn't see another thread for the day (must be because all the Jews are busy today).

My question: With Michael Thomas officially receiving the "Out" designation, I can move him to the IR slot that the league allows for. I never did that before, but apparently it means you get to add another player and keep an extra player for as long as you keep the injured player in the IR slot (including when the injured player gets healthy and sheds the "out" or "IR" designation).

These are some candidates (I need RBs more than WRs but value is more important than position). It's a PPR league.

RB Tarik Cohen (on waivers)
RB Joshua Kelly
RB Alexander Mattison (for when Cook lands on IR)
RB Philip Lindsay
RB Chase Edmonds
WR Anthony Miller
WR MVS
With Thomas out

Was able to pick Scotty Miller and immediately put him in my FLEX over D’Andre Swift. Am I being hasty? I have Allen Lazard as my WR2 and David Montgomery/Ronald Jones II as my RB since I am concerned about health of Conner and DeVante Parker.
I would pick up

Edmonds, Milton. Love that supercharged AZ offense. As a Drake owner, he's the guy I worry about the most missing time, and Edmonds has produced in the past and even has some flex value as a rotational guy right now if you had to play him in a pinch.

Love Kelly and Mattison as well, and it's close. But the upside between all those guys should they find themselves in a starter role. I like Kelly the least out of the three but if I were you I would snap up one of these three players because of fantasy upside. Nothing wrong with going Mattison here, I just like the upside of Edmonds a bit more.

I'm assisting my nephew and Mattison is the guy I recommended, but he put in the waiver claim on Cohen for tonight so who knows. Cohen may finish the year with more total points than Mattison, but I would never feel quite comfortable starting Cohen even with Montgomery injured, whereas Mattison becomes an RB1 the minute Cook tears an ACL.
Mattison is always a good stash

he had 10 points in .5 ppr last week as the #2 back. No TD either. I'm a cook owner in 2 leagues i was able to handcuff him in one.

A guy to keep an eye on is Russell Gage. Went 9 for 114 last week on 12 targets. Read somewhere that he was the first read on 11 of those targets. I think he's going to blow up this year despite playing behind Jones and Ridley
Need RB and FLEX...

Moss as your RB for sure. I'd roll with Slayton and Akers in that order for your flex spot.
Even though Robinson is the starter...

I haven't seen much love for him as RB2 or even FLEX ahead of guys like Moss or even Slayton. I guess Jags being Jags, people aren't too confident how he would fare.
Not sure who watched the games last week but Kelley is legit.

He loses value in PPR leagues but I made sure to pick him up where I could. I have Ekeler in one league but I feel that was a bad pick. His game is all about receptions and Lynn already came out and said that the offense under Taylor is different and Ekeler won't be catching passes like he had in the past. Kelley played very well and looked like a much better fit behind that Chargers OL as a pure runner.
I cannot believe how lucky I just got....

someone in my league dropped Michael Thomas a few days ago. I guess he thinks the high ankle sprain is going to keep him out for a long time. I was able to claim him this morning on waivers.

Don't you have a can't cut list?

Thomas is on ours.
That’s a league ruining move

likely made after 1 week. Good for you but I wouldn’t have that person back in the league anymore.

If I was the commissioner, I would contact the person and figure out why he/she did that. While I won't say it has an air of collusion, it does stink of someone who really shouldn't be in the league anymore. But that just my opinion.
Flex question PPR
beatrixkiddo : 9/20/2020 9:58 am : link
Slayton or M. Sanders? I should probably play Sanders but PHI OL against Rams and Donald is worriesome. Figure he may get more usage though than Slayton as the Giants try and establish the run this week. Thoughts?

That feels cheap - I wouldn't even feel good about that. It's just crappy for any league for someone to drop a player like that.

Any Henry Ruggs owners? I don't know what to do with him - he practiced yesterday but it was a light/no pads practice. I'm a Michael Thomas owner, myself... if I bench Ruggs, Preston Williams or Shenault are my choices.

Thinking I'm just going to roll the dice on Ruggs but I really can't afford an egg from him.

I get that.... crazy thing is I was 8th on the waiver list. I think people just did not log into the league to notice that he was dropped.

This is not a money league guys. Just a league with childhood friends.

When you drop a player don't they go to waivers untill after the games are played? Also shouldn't he be on a can't drop list or something?
