Giants fear RB Saquon Barkley suffered a torn ACL today, sources tell me and @JordanRaanan. One source said the torn ACL was “certainly within the realm” but there will be more tests Monday to make a full and complete determination.
of Tucker Frederickson... may never regain his old form if this is true.
Come on now....
that was 60 years ago. Modern medicine has completely changed the significance of an ACL injury. Look across the league at how many guys have come back from ACL injuries.
You don’t take a RB at #2 overall (aside from the fact that they have no impact on wins and losses) - they don’t last. I’ll continue to say it...absolutely brutal pick by Gettleman. At least we likely won’t be exacerbating it by spending a ridiculous amount to extend him.

I feel bad for the Giants as well because he’s supposed to be a big piece and now he’s gone. Timing is horrible with a contract decision looming, there is absolutely no way in the world the Giants can offer him serious money. He’ll have to come back on his rookie deal and prove he’s the same guy next season. Even then I think letting him walk will prove to be the right move.
Whatever happens I don’t want Gettleman making the call.

He may have to go the Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hapmpton route by putting on weight and becoming a between-the-tackles power back.
That makes him a wasted pick in this NFL. You have to hope he fully recovers, as many athletes do from ACL injuries these days. Unfortunately, this means he very likely misses part of next season also, so this could essentially kill 2 years of his rookie deal. That leaves him playing for a contract in the final year.

Depending on severity, next year could be a bit of a wash. Eecovery is usually more than a year. There is a good chance he would miss camp next year depending on when he has surgery...assuming he needs it.
Right now, our best bet is this comes back as a sprained or hyperextended knee.
Gallman gets his chance, and we should also look at Freeman
hope it's a non-complicated surgery and he can get himself 100% for next year. He looked like he was running with anger and about to break loose for a big day too.
He was the guy I wanted then and I still think it was the right move. But, I'm sure you guys would be happier with no running back and Darnold struggling in his 3rd year at QB, right?

Can you just shut the fuck up, for once? Not the thread for this you insecure zero.

What a scumbag comment to make on a injury thread. What’s wrong with you?
You can tell with flexibility tests prior to the MRI, it's a pretty easy diagnosis these days. We may very well be picking 1st, but at least if we take another QB he'll have a LT to protect him.

Second....looking like a lost season
Now forget it....
Is there even a point haha
Yeah that’s a useful post. Asshole.
That is unfortunately possible, but an unknown obviously.

If the OL continues to get better we can still compete
I do give them credit for nearly coming back in the second half.
Strange thread to continue your argument

And Jones is definitely NOT, to this point in time, ruling out a play for another QB.
I don't think he's comfortable in Garrett's offense yet, but he has some issues that need correcting big time.
They'll bring up Rod Smith, he can play and knows the offense.

Getting Penei Sewell would be many steps forward.
