You don’t take a RB at #2 overall (aside from the fact that they have no impact on wins and losses) - they don’t last. I’ll continue to say it...absolutely brutal pick by Gettleman. At least we likely won’t be exacerbating it by spending a ridiculous amount to extend him.
is the Giants are smart, this injury can be used as a re-start. Move on from Jones and Barkley, get rid of Gettleman and do a proper rebuild.
Now you're talking. I still have hope for DJ, but we should definitely move on from Getts and Barkley. And absolutely, hit the reset button this offseason.

You continue to sound like the fucking morons who while Barkley is writhing on the ground in pain are typing "Fire Gettleman".
I used to think we had knowledgeable, classy fans, but time and again I'm shown that we have some real fucking imbeciles supporting this team.

Nah every week that passes it seems I’ve been proven more and more right. Tough for you and others to acknowledge you were wrong, i understand, but that draft pick is going to end up being the downfall of Gettleman. Sorry if you still can’t see what’s now staring you in the face.

and if it were up to you, Sam Darnold would be our quarterback. You can try to beat this drum as much as you like, but that fact won’t change.
See, now that Darnold looks like ass, you’ve changed your point from: “should have drafted Darnold over Barkley” to “you can’t take a RB high”
who sit here before a full diagnosis has officially been released and say that his career is over or that he will never be the same, never be worth a second contract...you are SAD, SAD people.
Yes, it sucks and we are all upset. First, think of how he feels. A guy who works so hard and gives everything he has, and his season is over. He missed out on a big contract extension this offseason just to top it off.
And- it's like some of you haven't taken yourself out of pre-modern medicine era where ACL injuries are a career ender. Guys come back from ACL's all of the time- Peterson, Chubb (multiple acl tears), Dalvin Cook, Jamaal Charles etc etc

What you can't get through your fucking head is that you'd rather be right than the Giants be good.

You really can go fuck yourself. Zero class.
I’d rather be proven wrong. But unfortunately the results speak for themselves. It was an obvious mistake on draft night that has continued to haunt this team. And most ‘fans’ are too blinded by their love to acknowledge that.
is not justification for posting some shitty response about a guy who just blew out his season. I don't see fans who want to see the team win gloating about being right about draft picks.
Your repeated posts about "being right" are beyond stupid, offensive, and insulting, when the guy you are "right about" just blew out his ACL.
I pray you're not the Josh from this forum that I'm FB friends with... Holy cow if you are. I didn't think Jews could be as stupid as you are acting in this thread. And then doubling, tripling, quadrupling down on the point.
If you use hindsight as your guide (not to mention bail on the shit choice YOU would have made in real time), every Giants draft pick ever should have been someone else, except LT. And maybe Diehl in the 5th round...
Sure, if we knew Solder was going to be trash and that SB would get injured in successive seasons, it was the wrong pick. I can't argue with that hindsight. However, knowing everything we know about his character and talent it was reasonable pick. The Browns were considering taking him at 1.
That said, some of you are fucking cunts. Stinky, oozing ones at that. None on wants you around. You smell awful and can infect anyone you come into contact with. Just go away and never come back, Gollum. This is no day to gloat.
I actually don't think you'd rather be proven wrong
I just keep getting more and more frustrated by the stupidity of the pick as my initial reaction has been proven to be right. I'd give anything to have been wrong and for Saquon to have defied all odds to make me eat my words. But unfortunately, that hasn't come close to actually coming to fruition.
well I guess I can do it too. Darnold looks awful, so we'd be in the exact same spot we are in now, only no hope at all at QB in all likelihood, hoping to tank to get Lawrence.
So you were wrong (and I was too as I would have been fine with Darnold).
fuck has your initial reaction been right?? You keep saying this - but literally your initial reaction was that Barkley was a terrible pick and by passing on Darnold we are missing out on a franchise QB.
Seems to me, at least part of that is woefully wrong - why the fuck aren't you owing up to that or crowing about it?
In fact why the fuck are you patting yourself on the back for a statement that isn't even proving you to be right?

Serious question. Are you aware of the lack of class you displayed by using the news of a player suffering a serious injury to say, "I was right"?
I said that while Darnold would have been my pick, I would have been happy with any of the QB's. The one thing you absolutely do NOT do is draft a RB at #2 overall. And now you've all seen why.
you keep backtracking, its pretty hilarious. I can make a legitimate argument that getting the QB wrong is worse than anything else we could have done.
If the Jets don't get the #1 pick and can't take Lawrence, what do they do next year? Pick up Darnold's 5th year option? Extend him? Let him go and start over after 4 years?
If we drafted Rosen or Darnold how long do we play them until moving on?
How is either scenario better than what we have now?
You were wrong, own it, especially if you are going to keep boasting on every Barkley or DG thread.
equal risk there. And if he comes back and plays relatively well you will then be making the decision to pay him DE money which is basically double that of a RB as far as guarantees go (sometimes triple).
So this whole "anyone else but Barkley" bit actually has some really poor alternatives when using the ole crystal ball.
It's a "hindsight is 20/20" thing to use this injury
to say the Barkley pick was wrong, but part of the argument against taking a RB high in the draft has always been the injury risks.
In general, with the way the game is played now and with the durability concerns at the position, taking a RB high in the draft is probably not the wisest decision, but in this case the alternatives weren't much better.
Taking Darnold or Rosen would have been a disaster, and Allen is off to a nice start this season, but I am not completely sold on him just yet. I don't remember Denzel Ward being in the conversation (he's looking like a heck of a player), Chubb's ACL injury makes the durability argument moot, and taking a Guard at 2 is just as frowned upon as taking an RB.
At the end of the day, the Barkley injury sucks, but he should make a full recovery and be as good as ever. At least we didn't get stuck with Darnold or Rosen...
You’re the worst.

If you pick Darnold or Rosen - the next two rated QB's behind Mayfield - we are no better off.
Yet here you sit, repeating over and over again that you were absolutely right.
Get a fucking dictionary and learn the meaning of absolutely, preferably when you aren't pumping your fist celebrating Barkley's injury.
Dictionaries can cause some damage to windows and walls when propelled....
