In the role they are using him, his run fits are poor. He doesn't make plays in coverage.

The same knock on him coming out of college remains - a great athlete with no position. His athletic abilities got him through HS and Michigan but has never really learned the game to transform into a true free safety.

The team should use him as a wildcard in all three phases like Coradelle Patterson.

Turns out we need a RB and he's not a very good SS. Could be a win/win. Could you imagine?

Cleveland in that trade I was told.

RB really seems to be his natural fit, but I believe he vowed a few years ago that he has NO interest. Seems weird, as, if nothing else, he is a specimen and competitor.

If DG signed Jamarcus Russell tomorrow he'd tell us it's like having the #1 pick in the draft.

when Fitzpatrick was in Miami last year Graham loved using him in the box to free him up more as a playmaker. Fitzpatrick didn't love it and thought his talents we better used outside the box in more of a FS capacity.

I thought that Jabril (and formerly Landon Collins) would have thrived in Graham's new defense. Acting as a LB/SS hybrid in the slot, playing downhill and disrupting the run game. Two games in I've yet to see Jabril play downhill or be an impact in the run game. There were a few games prior to his injury last year where I thought he was coming into his own, which makes the 2020 start more disappointing. Maybe he's just learning the defense and we'll see improvement or maybe last years was a complete fluke.

When Xavier comes back it will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe someone goes to the bench and my guess is that it will be Ballentine with Logan moving outside.

if Peppers continues to underwhelm, he will be replaced. I doubt that linger with unproductive players. He will either improve or be auctioned off.

I agree with you - my bigger question is if they choose to build the scheme around getting the best 5 DB on the field or if they are going to be more traditional in using 2 pure CB's. We know Graham likes using players in multiple roles over the course of a game, so it will be interesting to see which DB is the odd man out when X is back.

I have to question that. He really doesn't fly around the field and gets beat routinely 1 on 1 in pass and run. He's simply not the good and definitely not a starter on a good nfl team. Maybe a position could help.

If he is your best safety you have a questionable backfield.

Awful is hyperbole. He is deeply mediocre.
