The pass was the first TD reception Stephon Gilmore allowed in coverage as the nearest defender over the last two seasons.
Gilmore had previously led the NFL in 104 targets without allowing a TD since the start of 2019.
It goes without saying that Belichick is a magician ... but someone named Jermaine Eluemonor is the RT? Damiere Byrd a primary WR? Rex Burhead sharing lead back duties? Ryan Izzo is the TE? Last minute loss of valuable James White ... opt outs of Marcus Cannon, Donte Hightower, Patrick Chung and others (1/3 of all the NFL opt outs) ... Edelman is 100 years old and they’ve got a motley crew of new and journeymen players ...and they are 1-0 and hanging tight with the Seahawks in Seattle?
They sign Cam Newton on July 8, a guy left for dead by most of the league, and he looks like he’s been in the system for 10 years?
... and now starting to look like the 2016 Cam. Throws have zip and dominant around the goal line. I was really hoping to enjoy the demise of the Pats this year.
yet find a way to play at such a high level of competition??! It's crazy.. Giants can get all Pro bowlers in their team and somehow manage to play like shit. It's almost like the culture here is shit, it left when Tom Coughlin was let go. The biggest mistake was letting him go. This Franchise has not yet recovered, the owners are completely clueless right now..

You don't think they played at a high level after DJ's two best weapons went out prior to the 2nd half?
one thing I noticed was the fantastic plays being made all over the field. Definite step up in play from watching the Giants.
Jamal Adams, holy hell, kid is fantastic, Seattle really knows how to deploy him.
Gilmore also a terrific player.
Russell Wilson, he is great but I think his strongest weapon is his pocket awareness, he just knows how to move around there. Really stresses the defense with his legs.
I thought the coach battle and culture was also interesting. The SEA sideline was noisy and shit talking. The Pats sideline more business and calm. Both effective, just different approaches.

When have we had all pro bowlers and stunk? We had a handful in 2016 and went to the playoffs. Then they regressed and were no longer pro bowlers. in 2020 we were looking like a roster with maybe 2 pro-bowlers (Barkley, Lawrence) and 1 is now gone.
Very confusing take. No idea what you are talking about.

I've long felt that Russell Wilson is the best QB I have ever seen at scrambling in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield and being able to quickly locate a receiver. I think he's the most enjoyable QB to watch in the league.
Rodgers is a "prototype" and somehow has been overlooked these last ocuplep years. And I know that Mahomes and Lamar have put up some eye-popping numbers the last couple of years, but both of them are playing in some fantastic offensive schemes with strong lines. Hats off to them and they are dominating, but Russell is the one guy of the three that I've seen play exceptionally even with absolutely dreadful lines. I'm curious to see whether Mahomes and LJax can maintain this production over the next 5-10 years.
...not using his final timeout, and instead tried to catch Seattle flat footed by lining up and throwing into the endzone which wasted a lot of time.......

+1. Both LJ and Patrick may have the better physical skills, but Russell has the best set of all around QB skills. I loved watching him live at NCSU for 3 years and more so today.
Harry just took a nasty shot to the head.

A real bad cheap shot!
I hear you. He's..ummm....got some odd opinions lol
He's hard to root for. Impressive athlete but still a showboating douche
and that pass was great. Over Gilmore.

probably the best CB in the league right now. One of the few FA's the Patriots really broke the bank for in the Belichick era.
Patriots have the ball for the opening series.
They sign Cam Newton on July 8, a guy left for dead by most of the league, and he looks like he’s been in the system for 10 years?
Wow.
With 2 drops I believe
Wilson has never received a vote for the MVP.
Lebron James should see that and go to a house of mirrors to reflect on his petty comments.

That’s so unbelievable that I had to fact check you lol ... you could win a bar bet with that one.
Needs 1 yard to win the game and he calls a pass play.
I'd like to see the stats on running it on the goal line out of spread vs out of goal line package. I'd much rather run it out of spread there
If you want to talk about teams that can actually be optimistic in a loss, the Pats have to be feeling optimistic about Cam right about now.
Absolutely
LOL.
I still have January in my back pocket. :)

it looked like the whole team stepped up

That's apparently the only way to approach the scenario...
