The physical play of Will Hernandez...

Can we talk about this?

Anybody else feeling really good about the physical play of this guy? He's the kind of tough guy you want on your side in a fight.

We've been missing his kind of physicality going back to the days of guys like Kareem McKenzie and Brandon Jacobs.

Thoughts?

Not sure why some here are down on him. I think he and Thomas will be there for a long time.

I was impressed with the way he pulled and got movement. I thought the whole OL played better in the 2nd half.
Need to have guys who are going to fight on the line...

Will may not be an all-pro, but he's full of fight and we need more of that.

And has a nasty streak.

He quietly had a pretty good week last week. Waiting to see how he grades out this week. He and Thomas could start forming a nice left side.

could be down on Hernandez and/or Thomas, at this stage, is beyond me. They're cornerstones.

i think it was him and Fleming that went right after the Bears dude that almost took Jones' head off on that one slide. I'll take Hernandez on my squad any day. This OL will continue to improve week to week. Let's put a solid effort on tape against SF and get a win.

as awful as the Barkley news is, and how it likely means another crappy season is ahead of us, if 2020 is the year of working towards a competent line I'll take it. Hernandez getting better means we can focus on C and RG/RT in the offseason which is a far better spot than we were in after 2019.

in the 2nd half where Thomas completely took his man out of the planet, and I said to myself, I don't think I've seen that from a Giants LT in 8 seasons.

He stunk up the joint in the first half, then played better in the second half. Still not particularly impressed by this guy.

Other than the 1st Mack sack which looked like either a miscommunication or a whiff by the TE - Thomas really stood out to me.

Playing next to Solder really hurt Hernandez in my view. No surprise that with baseline competency at left tackle, the young left guard looks more confident.

No, that was Gates and Fleming.

Hernandez blew open the hole on the TD run though.

Its two games and next week will be a test(though Bosa AND Thomas look like they will miss the game!), but I like the fire Gates had and Hernandez always is ready to go. I'm trying not to get TOO excited about a first round pick working out especially at OL, but he seems pretty good so far.

Jumbo Elliot hasn't played for the Giants in about 30 years. You saw that from ANY of Jumbo's successors?

I'm not particularly impressed with Hernandez. I don't think he's taken that next step. I think his rookie year was good, but I thought he took a step back last year and has been mediocre this year so far.

didnt rewatch every snap but there were a few i said Damn, thats what an All Pro LT looks like. big powerful base with long arms, quick feet and patience. he was stayimg down, bending at the knees and not being overaggressive put of his stance
