Wouldn’t surprise me if they just put McCaffrey on ice for next season.
I think the Lions, Jaguars, and Jets could all easily finish worse than them. Obviously with CMC out they get a lot worse and they're 0-2. But they lost a close one to the Raiders opening week and lost to Tampa Brady's, no shame there.

If he misses 4-6 games Carolina will still have 8 games left. They're not going to tell him he has to sit so that they can get Trevor Lawrence, any more than they would direct their players to "tank" for draft position.
Once they get test results back later today, there will probably be a more definitive timetable - but I don't know how public they'll make it
