1 play does not win or lose a game but this was a huge missed opportunity. If he makes the tackle, DJ has at least 2 min more for the last drive. The whiff shows why he wasn’t paid what he thought he was worth.
in the game, not sure why he would think Trubisky was going to be able to cut back inside. You have to take away the edge on that play and he couldn't do it.
nice effort player and can be somewhat productive, but he lacks athleticism and it shows up. He got handled by TE's a few times yesterday on pass rush.
on the first TD. Instead of setting the edge, he went inside and washed out of the play. Left the whole left side open where Trubisky went to make the little flip pass to Montgomery. If he plays the spot correctly, then Martinez is on Montgomery and it is likely a field goal instead. Instead, Martinez has to come up on Trubinsky.

He looks so much worse than he did last year, time to see what we have in Coughlin or Cam Brown, because Golden’s play is literally losing us games
The uncertainty about him is why Cam Brown and Carter Coughlin made this squad. At some point Golden needs to pick it up a bit or his spot is in trouble.

This is a good observation. Golden did this a number of times last year as well. Obviously these types of warts in his game were known which is why they held off on signing him up for bigger dollars right away (and why nobody else did).
many posters think we got really good value for Golden but really all we did was probably pay for the value we are receiving, which is low.
The Bears game last year. He had Trubisky dead to rights for a safety and just turned and ran the opposite way for no reason. I have no idea what this guy is doing sometimes. No football instincts.
