NFT: East side "shortcut" to Lincoln Tunnel

ImThatGuy : 9/21/2020 8:54 pm
A few years ago I vaguely remember someone on here telling me about how to use 31st to cut across Manhattan and get to the tunnel. I did it once and I remember bypassing all of the mess at the entrance. Anyone know this trick? And can you reeducate me on how to do it?

m I remembering this correctly?
It's West side but very helpful

Go West on 31st st, after you pass 9th Ave turn right on Dyer Ave. If you reach 10th Ave you missed Dyer.
Thanks Jon

Say I'm cutting across from the east 20s - do you think it makes sense to go across on 23rd Street, up 8th Ave and then onto 31st? Or should I just take 31st all the way from the east side?

I use 31st especially since MSG and the area should be very quiet.
Thanks all

31st is the way to go. You’ll go past MSG on the south side of it and then past the post office, through light on 9th avenue and right onto Dyer. There should be a “lincoln tunnel cars on right” sign that is hard to miss.

Another option is going down 37th street, making a left onto 9th avenue but staying in the far rigjt lane when you make a left and bending around to get into the tunnel.
