I know you skyscraper folk don't have this issue like us country residents but I always have three of these fools on my lawn every morning. Then I open the door to go out to work and they jump about three stories high because they get startled.
Sometimes I go outside and think someone is looking at me and it's a deer staring me down.
Do you have an ol' buck on your wall? I want to mount all of these guys on my wall the way they bounce around here and jump on everything. Also be alert (especially this time of year) because these idiots just decide to stand in the middle of the road for no reason. Don't want to see anyone get hurt.
I live in a rural setting in SEPA and see deer all the time. I was hiking with my wife just this past saturday down by the Schuykll River we came upon a Mom and a few of her offspring.
They looked at us, we looked at them and then they each hopped at first and then ran in different directions.
We sometimes have some deer in our backyard early in the morning, but it is rare as they prefer the corn in the farm across the street.
Cruelty be damned I think I'm putting out a bucket trap.
You spelled "tasty" wrong.
Last Fri night I saw three black bears on my property.

Bucket traps work, but cats work better. Try adding in some rhododendron and andromeda to your plantings. Also Irish junipers and bird-nest spruce work very well, Stay away from yews.
"The cost of these accidents results in over $1 billion dollars in vehicle damage
There are around 175-200 fatalities every year and 10,000 injuries
The majority of these accidents occur between October and December, but can happen year round."
You feel different about deer when you hit one. I do.
I hit a dead one that was lying in the passing lane of US 87 when I was driving home to Albany. It was late at night and I didn't see it. I was doing at least 70 mph.
I was lucky. The road was empty. My Honda Civic rode over the carcass and flew about 25 feet through the air. It landed squarely on all four tires. Had it been alive or the carcass frozen, the results could have been deadly.
My Honda needed a new exhaust system and a new cooling system, about $2500, but no damage to the frame.

Down here there are way more of them, so, you know to drive accordingly.

I am preparing for war on the chipmunks myself. They were out of control this year and ate a lot of the tomatoes in the veggie garden. The deer were less of a problem this year than the chipmunks.
They don't poison easily unfortunately and they're tough to trap.
I'm going to put up some owl houses in the winter time and hopefully some will move in this spring.

I walk for about two hours 4+ times per week, and I see deer on these walks in suburban NJ more often than not.
Yesterday I saw a black bear cub crossing the street about 50 meters in front of me.
They're all over the place in my neighborhood. One time a deer got startled (of course) and not knowingly jumped right into the lagoon across the street from the golf course.
There was actually one in Little Egg roaming around just this June.
Bears prefer ice chests full of salmon or blueberries.
I bought a couple of live traps from home depot. I used raisins+peanut butter to trap 12+ chipmunks and moved them to a nature trail close by. We were good for about 2-3 months, but with fall here a few more have moved in.
Linked the ones I bought

Those too. I never knew how animal kingdom-ish Oakland was until I moved here. You will see as many Deer walking around as you do squirrels. Bear are seen almost daily.
