after the Bears OL caught the 4th down pass to extend their drive, my buddy texted me to say "Just add it to the bizarre/heart-breaking ways this team has lost games".

I'll start with the Matt Dodge punt to DeSean Jackson

GIants needed to win to stay alive in playoff chase. After sleepwalking through the first half, came alive in the 2nd half and took the lead with a little over 2 minutes left, only to see the defense collapse and allow 10 points in the final 2 minutes go fall behind. Then very nearly stole the game on a last second lateral from Tiki To Ron Dixon who took it all the way down to the 4 yard line before being tackled by a lunging Bobby Taylor to fall just short. If Joe Jurevicius hadn't missed a block there, Dixon would have made it

...that was so horrific, it was clear a shakedown was required.

But I will say, MULTIPLE losses to the fucking Eagles are mind boggling. Horrifying blown leads - each time it happens makes it MORE mind boggling. HOW CAN THIS KEEP HAPPENING AGAINST ONE OPPONENT?

...but one I remember is from 1995 versus Seattle, Giants lost 30-28.

Notice Dan Reeves tried for a 2 pt conversion in the SECOND QUARTER twice (I guess the chart wasn't out yet lol). And one of those times he actually already had the lead lol

WTF.

That ended up being a huge difference in the game as Seattle kicked a late FG to win by two.

That actually was the first pass from Brady on the final drive........big pass rush as I remember.

I dad an employee call me at home to give me shit minutes after the game ended. I still, to this day, don't know how I did not end up without a lawsuit being filed against me.

2015 had a string of bizarre losses. That team just found ways to lose.

Between a bunch of stupid ass penalties, some really terrible calls that went against them, and Feely's nightmarish game, they handed a win to a team they thoroughly outplayed. Osi went up against a future HOF tackle in Walter Jones and just flat out whipped his ass, and it was all for naught. Frank fuckin' Walker......god I hated that guy.

That Seattle game was brutal. We moved the ball between the 20's at will all day, but then we'd stall and have to settle for a kick and Feely was a fucking nightmare.

The 2011 game vs. Seattle was a weird one, too - we were driving down at the end to win it and Eli threw a ball inside the 10 to Cruz that kicked up off his foot, got picked off and taken back all the way for a TD the other way and we lost. I think Brandon Browner was the one who took it back the other way... literally like 95 yards. That was a horrible way to lose.

We demolished Seattle in 2010 - Shawn Andrews was really good that year for us when he played, but he was a weird dude and had back issues so he didn't last.

A little OT but that might have been the craziest sports weekend I've ever experienced. The day before was the Malik between the legs shootout winner game and the David Lee last second double or triple OT winner game.

the 44-3 blowout coming in 1993/94 in San Fran.

In the blink of an eye, and before I could even get comfortable in my chair, we were down 14-0 and the route was on. A horrible ending to the LT-Simms era. So that's always bothered me.

That final regular season loss to Dallas was a killer...

The 1993 wild card win over the Vikings is the last time the Giants won a playoff game in a season where they didn't play in the Super Bowl. That's 27 years! Kind of bizarre.

The flip side of that is the Giants are 5-0 all time in the NFCCG and the only team that can lay claim to that. That doesn't happen if you win a lot of playoff games without making the Super Bowl.

I was at that game. It was brutally cold and the wind was a huge factor. Fortunately we knocked out McMahon and the Vikes had to turn to Salisbury.

Looked it up, and Jackson did start. Whitehurst came in relief and finished the game.

I think I DVRed it or something but learned about what happened before watching it.

That's kind of the running joke about me with some of my friends - that I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, but I can recall some of the most minute, random details of totally nondescript Giants games from many years ago.

I think it was Week 2 in 99 when we got absolutely demolished by the Redskins and fucking embarrassed by Stephen Davis.

I'm pretty sure that was the game where he ran directly into a pile, somehow squirted out without being tackled and ran all the way into the end zone for his 2nd or 3rd rush TD in the first half. It was a home game and an afternoon game - I just remember the crowd being almost silent like no one had any idea what just happened. They dropped 50 on us that day.

Jeremy Lincoln was also on that team. One of the worst CB's I've ever seen put a Giants uniform on in all the years I've watched them. He was awful.
