What a shitshow. Sony was no better last week but still, today was bad.
Walmart and Target gave me the same crap "no items in your cart" blah blah blah.
But I got through on GameStop and I was ONLY able to order it IF I put the $50 protection plan(no wonder they'll be out of business in a year or two) on top of that it was an extra $18 for Day One shipping(Amazon, Walmart, Target, BestBuy are all free btw). So I order it, don't get an email til 20 minutes later, no $ taken from my account.
At about 11:45 I was on the phone with my cousin and he noticed if he searched Xbox Series X on Amazon search bar and it showed up as 'Currently Unavailable' which it didn't before it just took you to an info page. After refreshing the page for 2-3 minutes it went live and was able to get one but I checked again two minutes later and it was sold out. Currently I don't have an estimated shipping date but Amazon is usually good with Day 1 deliveries. Oh and I canceled the Gamestop order I had because they don't deserve to scam people.

If you weren't successful today be sure to sign up with retailers for updates, and expect more consoles to be available on November 10.

I was able to get to buy one outright but since I don’t love the launch games I figure I’ll wait until there’s a trade in deal - something like get $150 off for trading in my Xbox one.
I still need to upgrade my tv so it’s no major loss - the games I’ll be playing I can just upgrade for free when I get the one x.
Xbox one x for 4k. Is this new version that much advanced to justify the purchase? It’s mostly for my 8 yr old but do care about game compatibility and graphics. Most of the games played is stuff like Forza race games Injustice fighting games and Marvel Avengers. I don’t see him and won’t let him get into combat games yet.

I’d just wait for a good trade in deal upgrade then.
But it is significantly improved. The processor in the one x won’t be able to handle the size and output needed for the next gen games.
I have said this for 10+ years, but I'll probably be right. Sometime.
NVidia did add a Captcha to prevent the bots, but was a bit late in the game.
I'd say PS5 is the better Day 1 buy, Halo being pushed really dropped my interesting in having to fight for a Series X on Day 1.
