I noticed during the game Jason was not wearing a mask all of the time. I just saw an article the NFL is fining Gruden and Payton for not wearing masks. I wonder if Jason will get one?
I did do a search and did not see this subject. Will delete if already discussed.
By the way, I was very encouraged with the team in the second half of the game. That was a difference in attitude compared to the recent past.
Belichick had his on upside down. Lol.
Andy Reid looks like he's in an all-plastic welding mask.
We need anyone in a leadership position in this country to finally show that following the rules is the way we beat this.
If it were outsiders, then ok. But they are with the players daily.
I agree with you

Sorry to disagree, but we beat this once it runs it’s course (which it might have already done). It is a virus. That’s how virus’ work.
FWIW, I saw several coaches on our side not wearing masks at different times.
Garret seems to be in the clear.
I agree with you

In the case of the NFL with their large-scale testing, mask wearing is mostly PR. They don't want to get attacked for modeling poor behavior.

This is incorrect. This is a coronavirus and infections from this family of viruses does not result in lasting immunity. You will be susceptible to reinfection in roughly six to eight months after you recover.
A vaccine, if a safe one can be made, will likely give immunity that lasts about a year, which is why you will need to get vaccinated every year.

So at the door they are militantly vigilant about you wearing your mask and tables are remotely well spaced apart.
But basically, soon as you're inside all mask discipline and apparent concern goes out the window. I realize you can't stick food in your mouth while your mask is on. NOT what I'm referring to.
But walking between tables, socializing between tables. Just the in general conversation between eating etc. Its obvious if someone was asymptomatic and was in that restaurant... others were gonna get it. So why bother?
How much of this is truly preventative measures and how much is for show?
I liken it to the rigorous security measures at airports before boarding.
I mean getting there an hour of two early. Getting annoyed err I mean scanned, sanded, invaded or whatever, taking off shoes and belts etc. Cant bring on even a bottle of shampoo. Ok ok I get it it!!!!
Until I read that like 95% of intentional illegal and potentially dangerous shit gets by TSA when they do random tests of security anyways.
I go to LAX all the time. At the entrance there are often 8 or more cops grabbing ass and BSing under a tent while ONE cop just glances and waves you by.
IT'S ALL FOR SHOW and very little of it for effective blow. And it all costs. And we sheep just put up with all of it.
We're all being trained to be those damn pod people from Invasion of the Body Snatchers that point open mouthed at whomever they find not conforming.
I'm moving to Saskatchewan. Screw you all!!!
Oh yeah, and fuck the 0-2 Giants who have drafted forever in the top 5 it seems like. And fuck Saquon's God damn ACL.
I have been absolutely dreading this ACL specific moment from the day they drafted him. Even though he was a pure specimen of athletic GOD like creature with no history of injury. I knew this was gonna happen. I dread every time he takes the field cause I knew it was gonna happen. If there was a Vegas betting line on it I would have dropped a lot of real cash on it just cause I knew it was gonna happen. And if it didnt??? Its ok. Cause my lost wagers paid for the gods to leave Saquon alone. It's like living on the opposite coast of your aged parents and dreading everytime the phone rings late at night.
Aghhhh
Serenity now!!!!

Here in NYS they have the same rule about eating food. People was completely infantile when the rule came out (not really sure what the big deal is for them to object). But, they do try to be strict about still wearing masks when not at the table and some places won't let you approach the bar yourself (not sure of the specific rule here). I do know that the state liquor authority is doing spot inspections (maybe even undercover ones) to make sure that all the rules are being followed and that several places have been fined or had their liquor licenses suspended/revoked.
If it were outsiders, then ok. But they are with the players daily.
No they don’t. Just another example of a lack of common sense.
This is a large part of the reason this virus is unlikely to go away on its own.
99% of the time (a made up number) this behavior is no big deal. the other 1% keeps the virus going.
The NFL has fined several head coaches $100,000 for not wearing face masks on the sidelines — a safety precaution that is required at games during the COVID-19 pandemic. The coaches' teams were also punished, with $250,000 fines.
The NFL's game-day safety protocols state, "All individuals with Bench Area Access, except for Players, shall be required to wear masks at all times. Coaches must wear either a mask, neck gaiter, and/or face shield to satisfy this obligation."

I just gave you facts. What’s the maybe part?
All of what you said is possible but it's equally likely that it's wrong. Not to be contentious. but you did not offer facts.
Money talks though, you watch how many coaches are masked up tight after a few weeks of these fines. And you can bet they will increase.

So here in California the bars are closed unless you serve food in which case you can be open but at like 25% capacity.

The restaurant thing is pretty simple. They NEED to be open, as much as possible. So how can we do that as safe as we can? Wear a mask when you arent eating, space the tables apart, outdoor dining etc. Its not perfect, but something had to give for them.

They’re playing a sport where 22 guys Are on the field at once touching each other, breathing on each other, tackling each other, sweating, and bleeding on each other. And you’re upset a guy who gets tested daily doesn’t have a mask... YIKES.
"Might have already done"? Wow. Where does that come from? Did I miss this?

Upset...
...no.
But he should be find.
America has decided over the last few years to not hold leadership accountable or responsible for anything that they do.
While we may have just enough cowards that we can’t control it at leadership levels within our government we sure as hell should be able to control it at leadership levels within private businesses.
Someone needs to stand up and be accountable.
The idea that leadership need not have character and be responsible needs to be a thing of the past sooner rather than later.
Do I hate wearing one? Yes, as does everybody. But if it keeps others from getting sick/me from getting sick, it's worth it.
