Like night and day. He looks really good. Not one coach ever thought to move him inside when he was a Giant
I'll give myself credit for suggesting it when he was still here. Most people called me an idiot and said I didn't understand the difference between a tackle and guard and that Flowers didn't have the skillset to be a guard.
Anyway.
Good fantasy night for me so far. Started Preston Williams and J-Rob. Both have scored already. I'll take it.

A few people suggested it but I remember you and others getting crap for it. I still dont know what it would've hurt to give it a try. At the same time, I feel like it just wasnt going to work for him here. The change of scenery may have saved his career as much as Callahan ans the position change.
was suggested at him and he completely balked at it. Things are changing, but competent tackles make a lot more money than G. Plus Flowers is a hero in his own mind. He desperately needed a change of scenery and dose of reality.
does look better. He also looked better in Washington. I still have a hard time believing that he and Bobby Hart are starting OL. And Flowers got a really great contract from Miami.
Anyone understand what the TD dance was, the camera guy
and argue that investing significant money / resources into a RB makes sense. And I love Saquon
Yeah I hear ya. It’s a tough sell to pick a player at that position when you are rebuilding from the ground up. Barkley was still the right call among what was taken in that part of the draft, but I would have entertained a trade down scenario to further accelerate a rebuild.

I recall this too. Flowers (probably on the advice of his agent) refused to move to guard.
And his boy Marc Ross allow their boy to move inside and admit their mistake? I doubt it.
Why is it never the player's fault? And who plays Tackle if he moves to Guard? Even in 2018 when Solder came we had no viable option at RT.
This was a shit sandwich all around but if the Flowers rumors were true about not moving, then that's that. And it makes sense, he wanted to hit FA as a Tackle. Once that didn't really work out too well the next logical move is switching positions.
He fucked us, but he did what was best for him and I'll never get on a player for that.
performances also get way overrated here. He was terrible in Jax and below average in Washington. If he wasn't a complete shitshow, people would post that he looked good.
Even last night I bet he grades out below average. He missed at least three blocks on plays I was watching and he's still part of an entire OL that is below average.
On top of that, he was playing against one of the worst defensive lines in the league.
They loved him down here. They were really hoping to bring him back. He graded pretty good when they broke down plays on the radio here. I don't follow grading sites but the games I watched, he looks pretty good.
But didnt EF refuse to play any position other than left tackle? When Giants picked up Nate, Flowers refused to attend the voluntary workouts because he was told by then head coach Pat Shurmur that he was being moved to RT. Landon Collins spilled the beans on that.
Fcct it; It was never going to work for Ereck in New York. He was a self entitled piece of work that had to be taught a lesson by DG. Good to see that he has learned.

GMan - I don't think he was the terrible player he was here, but I think a lot of the perception in Washington was because the OL coach singled him out for praise. There was a thread here, I think vs. Philly, where Washington got out to an early lead and people were lamenting flowers "playing well" - then on a critical drive after Wash has lost the lead. he had a holding penalty, gave up a sack and missed a block on a failed 4th down conversion.
He's not the trainwreck he was here - but he's still not a plus player, but he's paid like one and he's starting to get referred to as one.
Callahan sung his praises a lot down here. The radio guys did also. They was talking like it was a steal!
He was never a plus player and still isn't. He a serviceable starter on a good line. He is no anchor.
I wonder how much of a factor Beatty getting injured led into drafting Flowers and starting as a rookie?
That's a great point about Beatty. You know, looking back at it, his injury may have been just as critical as injuries to the skill players because it seemingly forced our hand in the draft

That's ok, because we now have a 4th round pick in Gallman starting. So we good now right?
The hatred of EF I'll never understand. We were the ones that
overdrafted him and threw him into a position he wasn't ideal for. At best he was a RT. He played through injuries and worked hard. However, he just didn't have it mentally and I get the vibe he was the type that always made excuses for his poor play. Guys like that rarely get better because they don't learn from their mistakes. In their mind they haven't even made any!

He's a huge tease. He'll engineer a winning streak and get the fans all excited and then turn into an INT machine immediatly after
grr

This is 3 games now where he's looked good - I don't think that's "luck"

Me too, he was +250 to score. Didnt like the line so I went with a few props tonight.
Seriously, the guy is the Frank Gore of QBs. He's just there year after year. He's the greatest backup QB in the history of the NFL.

he's the perfect bridge QB
Not personal but I despise him for what he did with Giants.
:- (
The 2nd down screen would have been big if he laid a hand on the DB.

Yeah, I saw that. You don't want him in space. Flowers is really a "phone booth" player. He needs to play within a few feet to either side.
I hope everyone had Fitzpatrick in their fantasy leagues.
Fitzmagic looks great.

Speaking of Mike Gesicki scoring
I just need Devante Parker to get a TD first

2/3 so far, just need Shenault now.
I like him though.
Jags have a very young team. Don't know how long Marrone sticks around but they beat Indy and stuck with Tennessee. They're still tough.

I still can't get over this development and how simple it should have been by 2016 or 2017. Why the hell the Giants didn't do this I will never know.
Giants did it with William Roberts and saw him develop into a pro bowl super bowl winning guard. Admit your mistakes and move on. Assholes.

Likewise Gettleman and Shurmur should have done this in 2018. But again I recall that as long as he was a Giant, Flowers refused to play OG.

Now now, show a little respect.
Will Fitzpatrick be top 4 all time in passing yards?
As crazy as it is his play in his R season was his best play in NY. He went downhill each year
He was not the 1st and will certainly not be the last T to fail at that position and move inside
1+
I said it. A number of BBIers did too. Those Giants coaches were fired for a reason.
