I have a basic Epson all-in-one for home use (XP-400) that we've had for more than a few years now. It is about done. I would like to replace it with another wireless all-in-one, but I don't want to spend a ton. Current comparable Epsons are getting very spotty reviews.
Anybody have a relatively cheap recommendation (HP, Lexmark, Canon)? One problem is most models $150 and under are out of stock in most places.
I'm not using if for anything complex, so basics are OK, but must be wireless and must have a scanner. Cost of ink and lifespan of ink are also factors.
PS - If you don't need color printing, going with monochromatic will save you some money as well.
You can get great deals on genuine ink for them on eBay.
I got an Epson Ecotank on Black Friday and am really liking it. No wifi issues at all and we've not gone through half the ink since November 2019. And that's with two adults working from home and two kids using it for remote school.
Oh, and Epson ink is the same price as Canon and lasts way longer.
So, in sum, fuck Canon.
sb - I hadn't looked into the ectotank Epsons yet. I would have guessed they werre worse on ink. Are they similar to the other Epsons where if 1 color cartridge is empty, you can't print, even if you want B&W.
We got the Epson EcoTank ET-2750 Wireless Color All-in-One about 2 years ago and have never looked back. Works great and very economical.
It was a little bit of a pain to setup, but once I got the wifi stuff figured out, it's been flawless for 2+ years now. It's fast for both sheet feeding duplex scans and printing.

The EcoTank is the ONLY way to go. 4,000 pages B&W and 6,500 color on one fill.
Love it.
Thank you all.
