Anybody else been watching this 4 part series? Describes work of some Nobel Prize winners in behavioral economics on how your mind works and how those who understand these principles use it to manipulate people.

I just watched part 2 of the 4 that have so far been broadcast. Highly recommend if you are interested in this topic.

it is about human decision making theory. It covered the topic of loss aversion which I have brought up here before. The human mind for most finds losing $100 more upsetting than the joy of gaining $100. This is not entirely rational but drives a lot of human behavior.

iIf you are implying politics, please keep this out of this thread, The series does give some examples from politics but it is not about politics as a main theme. Advertising overall is discussed a lot.

I use a lot of this in my therapy practice. I highly recommend chip and dan Heath. Johnathan Haidt. Daniel kahneman. Daniel Gilbert. It’s amazing how useful this knowledge is in therapy. I always tell my clients that they don’t have to even actively try to make changes if they just start to understand how their brain makes decisions. Everyone should read or watch this shit.
