Agree. Way the game should be played
It's the bats that have been confounding - and the defense has been really, really poor. So, both of those things are a little worrisome because all it takes is one of these nights where we can't hit or see a bunch of defensive miscues to wind up in a hole and on the verge of elimination next week.
The good news is that we're in decent shape health-wise - just really not sure what to expect next week. Not sure if we'll get the lineup that was bludgeoning opposing pitching during the 10-game W streak or the one that goes several games without a HR and struggles to hit with runners on.
In any case - felt good to get another offensive outburst today and get back in the win column. Hopefully finish strong tomorrow and go into October on a winning note.
Toronto would win the tiebreaker 12-8 vs 11-9.
It is hard to believe since the Yanks 10 game winning streak was all against division opponents but, somehow, they lost 9 of the other remsining 10.
I do think Yanks will score enough runs to win tomorrow and get the 5 seed. Jose Urena is awful.
The way the Central scores are going, Cleveland has locked themselves into the 7 seed. Yanks will get White Sox unless White Sox win tomorrow and Twins lose tomorrow. In which case Yanks would get Minny. (I'm assuming WS are going to hold on to their 4-run 9th inning lead.)
Out West, A's got swept by Mariners and I wonder if they want to win. If they lose again tomorrow, they get the now sub-.500 Astros. If they win, they get a plus-ten or so Cleveland team as their first round opponent.
Possibly a flaw in the system.
If A's lose, they are guaranteed the Astros.
Still possible the Blue Jays will get 5 and Yanks will drop to 8 and get Rays.

Into the 5 seed now. Even if we lose tomorrow and finish tied with Toronto we win the 3rd tie breaker ( best division record the last 20 games of regular season). We can't finish ahead of Chicago, Cleveland or Minnesota. We're traveling to play one of those 3 in the 3rd rd.

No I believe the tie breaker is last 20 games of the regular season not last 20 division games
