Why do we hate the J.E.T.S?

I never had a problem with them until Rex showed up & started taking shots @ them, culminating with them covering up the Giants Super Bowl murals before the 2011 game.

I ve often watched their games kind of rooting for them.

And would like him to play well. It would be gratifying to see those who have labeled him a bust proven wrong

In Rex Ryan’s first year as HC, they won their first game. I overheard people talking in the locker room at my gym the next morning saying stuff like “We found the next Parcells” Those two years were fucking insufferable. Until we beat them Christmas Eve.

PS, fuck the Eagles. I hate them more than anyone.

Rex was annoying, as was the Barkley/Darnold aftermath, otherwise I don’t mind the Jets. I remember rooting for them a bit when Herm/Pennington were there.

It will irritate me if they fall ass backwards into Trevor Lawrence.

They were always my second team behind the Giants, since I was a little kid.

My dad's a Giant fan, and Uncle's a Jets fan. When my uncle lived with us for a while as a kid I would watch the Giants with my dad and the Jets with my uncle every Sunday.

are Jets’ fans. I chose a different path at a very young age but we all root for each other for the most part.

There’s a bit of a little brother complex there that is tough to deal with. When the Giants win, I couldn’t care less about the Jets. When the Jets win, half their enjoyment is picking on the Giants fans.

Jet fans are rare here in South Jersey. He moved here in the 7th grade from Staten Island.

I don't hate the Jets because of him or anything. He's just a moron.

If you don't reside in the NY/NJ region, you have little to no interaction with Jets fans or the Jets franchise. However, if you're from around the NY/NJ region, Jets fans are more in your face. They get more play on sports radio around here despite not winning a SB in over 50 years. They're just annoying more than hateable. Although, their fans can absolutely be annoying as fuck.

And yes, as others have mentioned, Rex claiming the Jets are the 'big brother' and that NY is a 'Jets town' riled both sides up a good bit.

A few of my friends are Jets fans - but they're more of the hopeless, Beningo-style variety which isn't really that bothersome. Given how bad the Giants have been lately, they're not exactly looking for my sympathy these days.

And kicked our ass 37-14 in the first game ever between the franchises.

As a life-long Giants/Yankees fan, I don't understand the hatred for our NY brethren. I couldn't have named more than 5 or 6 guys on the team, but I was pulling for the Mets against KC in the WS a few years back.

They were a fun team when Parcells was there.

I don’t dislike the Jets, and was actually a Namath fan. I generally will casually root for the Jets if it doesn’t interfere with anything that benefits the Giants. Not enough that I care if they lose, but if everything is equal I’ll usually rather see them win against AFC teams, and certainly against a NFC team.

The only real exception to this was when Rex Ryan was the HC. I couldn’t stand him and as a result couldn’t stand the Jets during that time.

you likely won't understand. If you live near NYJ fans, you will quite certainly never, ever, want to live through those shit stains getting a sniff of any kind of success. Their inferiority complex is epic, and their obnoxiousness knows no bounds (not quite Philly level, but close). Classes clowns whose team cannot lose enough to suit me.

Rex is one of the only reasons to hate the Jets. He constantly talked shit about the Giants, to the point where Brandon Jacobs was ready to knock him out after that 2011 game. He was, is and will always be a huge asshole. Like his entire family.

some have already said, the Jets weren't a blip on my radar till Rex showed up. Next thing you know anytime I went anywhere wearing Giants gear I had young cocky Jets fans in my face. "Giants suck" "NY is our town now". Culminating in the back page of the Daily News with the accompanying Gary Myers article echoing the same sentiment. Then came 2011. Haven't heard a peep. Silence is indeed golden

I do find them very annoying at times though. The Rex years and when they posted the “thanks for Darnold” tweet and tagged the Giants on 2019 draft day.

On another note, as annoying as he was, Rex was perfect for that franchise.
