Yankees (33-26, .559)
Yesterday’s result: Won 11-4 vs. Marlins
Where they stand: The Yankees are one game ahead of the Blue Jays for the division’s No. 2 playoff berth and hold the AL's fifth seed.
Key tiebreakers: The Yankees and Blue Jays split the season series, 5-5. The Yankees currently hold the tiebreaker with a better record vs. the AL East (23-17 to Toronto's 22-17, though the Blue Jays have one games vs. Orioles remaining). The third tiebreaker is record vs. division opponents over the last 20 games. With a win today to pull even, the Jays would be 12-8 in their last 20 AL East games, giving them the tiebreaker over the Yankees (11-9).
cruise through 4 batters then lose the strike zone? Of course while Urena gets a ultra wide zone, Schmidt doesn't get an actual high strike for the 2nd out.....
Not quite yet...if the White Sox come back to win, they are the 4 seed. It didn't look that promising an inning ago, but they scored 5 in the 8th. Still have quite a bit of work to do in the ninth.

Wow! Tying run at the plate, one on two out, two runs scored already.
Cleveland probably has the best pitching in the AL, so this is going to be very difficult. Given the Jekyll & Hyde nature of this team over the last few weeks, I honestly have no idea what to expect. It depends which version of the Yankees show up.
The pitching should hold up but if the bats vanish, it'll be a quick series.
they advance past Cleveland.....they pulled the same disappearing act a few years ago and were wiped out by the Red Sox quickly.
Cole v Bieber alone should be great to watch. Best would be Cole not giving up a gopher ball early.
Ooops, it was against the Astro's that they pulled the end of season disappearing act.
Nevertheless, Judge hasn't hit since his return and I think Voit, despite a heroic season is either gassed or trying too hard(or is hurt more than we know). LeMahieu is the only one hitting and Sanchez is a complete black hole. They'd be smart to start Higgy who is not as big a detriment and a better catcher.
While Hicks BA sucks, he seems to get walks every game and at least works the count. Frazier and Urshela died the last week.
Back to Judge, he needs to change his approach for swinging at the low pitches. Yes he still gets horrible calls far too often, but when he does swing at what would be a real strike, he almost never makes contact. He has to go to right with that pitch, like Stanton does(Stanton is better at low pitches anyway). If I am a pitching coach, I tell my catcher that every pitch to Judge has to be low and preferably away. If he walks, so be it. But the umps are screwing Judge enough and he swings through every single low pitch, anyway.

had to delete mine...
Home plate umpire giving Urena 8 inches outside and then blow an easy safe call at 1st.
WTF
I would be. Hope Marte is ok. I think the helmet got most of that ball...
Any update on Marte - I turned the Marlins announcers off. They are worse than the Rays announcers.

I have the YES broadcast and they haven't mentioned anything.
run=right
Nope. Can't determine anything yet with the scores in the Central or if the Blue Jays come back.

We get the White Sox in round 1, right?

Based on scores right now, we would get the Indians.

Beiber vs. Cole should be a great matchup.

Lets see if they can scratch out a couple runs against Bieber.
