be smart enough to draft Lawrence or too stubborn?
That's pretty much a rhetorical question btw.
Nope. And this is why missing on a QB sets your franchise back. They will not draft another QB. They will say "covid-19, no preseason, new coach, new offense. Let's give him one more year". This franchise loves Daniel Jones. They will back him until its one year too late, like every other decision they make has been one year too late.
I can absolutely see this happening.
As I said, rhetorical.
Where's Ray from Arlington? Time to get to work buddy.
They brought in Lynch and Shanahan, we brought in Dinosaur Dave and Pat Shurmur. Just awful.
Lynch did an outstanding job acquiring multiple picks. He made a few mistakes, as any Gettleman defender will more than eagerly point out, but unlike us, they weren't as hamstrung by them because they gave themselves so many opportunities.
Well, the Rams will be motivated next week, so that's
This team has gotten worse each week. Different coaching staffs, different personnel, same horrific results for years now.
I don't want to hear about injuries because look at the team we just played. For more than a couple of years, we still have absolutely no depth anywhere on this roster.
I am starting to get on board with firing Gettleman. I am starting to get on board with blowing things up. If we end up with the first pick, which at this point seems very possible, I am very open to taking Lawrence and moving on from Jones.
First big test for the new Head Coach coming up this week. Team seemed like it was going through the motions. No positives from today. Everything about the team took a big step back.
Jones looks rattled to me. I was for the Garrett hire but I have some doubts creeping in. If Peart and Lemieux know the assignments they have to think about getting them on the field. I think Judge needs to shake things up a little bit.

If they’re so bad that they’re in position to take him that would mean this was a disaster and Jones has lost at a historically bad rate so I think taking Lawrence is a no brainer.
I still look at how much draft capital we have invested in our Dline and just shake my head. Not a single one is a difference maker and they are not a top tiered group collectively. And we have talent deficiencies every where else. What a underwhelming team 🤦🏾♂️

It would be more than shaking things up. They would be replacing guys who suck and deserve to be replaced.
At this point, we should just root for the opponents of Cowboys and
about how good of a hire the head coach is. Right now, the team looks like dogshit and looks WORSE than they did last year. So much for the o-line coach hire changing anything. The QB is lost and Garrett refuses to move the pocket or throw screens to slow the pass rush. They hired a DC who was fired last year by a bad team and the D is now good in first down, bad on second down, and Division 1-AA on third down.
Fuck all of this shit. I’m tired of watching this nonsense.
I think there is a good chance Joe Judge is a good bird.
Was talking about how the 49ers took advantage of Love's hesitancy. He said that Love was overly cautious not wanting to give up the big play. And, that was one of big issues on defense.
I liked the hire as soon as we got to hear and see him. I liked the staff he hired. But, I am not ready to say we are definitely in good hands right now. This is a tough year to gauge him due to no pre-season, no real camp, a terrible roster, and now Barkley out.
That said, we really need to see some improvement and some legitimate positives, not empty moral victories.
For a reason that I do not understand, Judge/Garrett refuse to play
a blocking FB, knowing full well that the offensive line, by itself, cannot open holes for a running back. Just plain stupidity. If the running game were even moderately effective, the passing game would be more successful.

We literally gave up running the ball in the second quarter. These coaches did everything they could to not put the team in a position to win.
seemed to think interior 3 of OL is the biggest issue on offense.
100%. I’ve always marveled at the Patriots’ interior o-lines and their ability to keep from getting pushed back on the QB’s feet. It allows the QB to step up when the tackles get beaten. The Giants interior linemen get walked back in pass protection, can’t pick up stunts, never get across a defender when they run, and a million other issues. On the rare plays they get anything done, Jones either completes a pass or sees ghosts.
Commented that defense was expecting motion and a lot of things 49ers do on offense. But, players seemed to fall for the "eye candy" making them not trust their keys.
Dexter Lawrence is the best player on the team right now. We can't move the ball at all. We also can't cover slants, or generate any edge pressure.
LOL!!!
I was waiting for the guy that was controlling the canned crowd noise to start hitting his "boo" button.
Guy threw for 343 with a back-up TE, back-up RB, and a slew of #2 (at best) WRs. No INTs and completing 70% of his passes.
Just unbelievable...

I really wish they had more of an incrementalist approach to the rebuild.

Fuck this team.
Having said that, the lack of talent on this team is exasperating. That's all about repeated bad drafts....like a decade's worth.

That sure as shit did not happen today.

I would be looking to get rid of Williams in a trade to a team that has a chance to win as soon as possible. That is if there are any takers.

Let's go Seattle!!

LOL. Thought the same thing. Yeah Julian Love was the reason we got blown out.
That said, we really need to see some improvement and some legitimate positives, not empty moral victories.

The problems with this team stem from bad decisions by the front office in hires and personnel decisions.
They have been the worst team in the league for a while now.
Expecting a new coaching staff to turn this around quickly, especially considering a covid impacted off -season is kind of silly, no?
They played a championship quality team today, and the chasm between these two teams was evident for all to see.
Giants fans impatience doesn’t make that fact untrue.
I wish we had lanes to run.
I wish we can stop drives.
I wish we can get to QB.
I wish we can start games better, end 2nd QTer better, start 2nd half better....end the game better.
Back-up QB, back-up RB, back-up TE, and a slew of #2/#3 receivers...and no punts.
Astonishing.
Exactly. Its a fait accompli.
With Mara it's all about loyalty and familiarity. And a commitment to the "Giants Way".

Whose fault is that? Go watch Biadasz for Dallas right now. Gates has no business starting Center for anyone.
