Giant should bring back Corey Coleman

Josh in the City : 10/5/2020 2:22 pm
This team has one guy who can beat the defense right now and that's Darius Slayton. The rest of this WR crew is an absolute travesty. Golden Tate is finished and I would have no problem with him being replaced...he's basically Gettleman's repeat of Jonathan Stewart...as useless signing of a veteran who had nothing left in the tank.

It's too late to sign a guy off the street who will have any impact and who can learn the playbook. But why not at least bring back Corey Coleman? He was with the team the entire offseason, he has size (which no other WR on this team has), and he knows the playbook since he was here throughout the offseason. He seemed to perform well in camp and he has to be better than some of the garbage that we're trotting out there on Sundays.
I don't
SoZKillA : 10/5/2020 2:25 pm : link
think a guy coming off an ACL injury would help.

I'd rather see Victor get promoted and get some reps.
I agree

110%
Sure
Giants : 10/5/2020 2:27 pm : link
bring back a player nobody else wants, that's the ticket
I liked Coleman two years ago.
Bill L : 10/5/2020 2:29 pm : link
But, even though we can bash the GM for bringing in the players we have, I do trust the coaching staff who was able to see and rank Coleman directly against those players. IOW, our players might not be good, but head-to-head Coleman was worse.
I thought when the Giants cut Coleman
Giantsfan79 : 10/5/2020 2:33 pm : link
he'd be resigned after week 1 so they didn't have to pay him for a full season if he was cut later.

The fact he wasn't resigned and hasn't signed with anyone else may be an indication he's not that good.
I'd rather bite the bullet
JonC : 10/5/2020 2:33 pm : link
and get the highest draft picks possible.
There's a reason..
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/5/2020 2:42 pm : link
he hasn't been signed by any team. And it doesn't just have to do with his talent.

If he gets resigned, several other people will have to be out of the building before it happens.
I liked Coleman too and was hoping he’d stick
mfsd : 10/5/2020 2:44 pm : link
but let’s not make him out to be any kind of savior here. We’re desperate for playmakers, and cut him. Nobody else has signed him. Sometimes you have to read the writing on the wall
Imagine signing a WR not good enough to make the 2020

New York Giants!

So it's a relationship/culture issue? And this must be known in NFL circles as he hasn't been picked up. We all know Coleman can be useful on a NFL team.
It's not..
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/5/2020 3:05 pm : link
a culture issue. Read between the lines
they may as well bring in Gary Coleman
KDavies : 10/5/2020 3:23 pm : link
at this point. I would rather them play the UDFA to see if they have anything there.
I believe FM in C.

Is on to something....
No.
AcidTest : 10/5/2020 3:27 pm : link
Like others, I was surprised when he was cut, but he hasn't been signed by anyone.

I'm trying! But thanks for the nugget, helps me understand why he's not here (or anywhere).
They

Should be open to anyone young but your now stuck with mostly practice squad guys due to COVID-19. They would have to sign them to the team but take two weeks before putting them on the actual field. Look at this roster not many guys you would say he’s a building block for the future. Jones, Slayton, Smith, Thomas, Peart, Hernandez, Lemieux, Gates, Lawrence, Carter, Ximines, Brown, Crowder, Brunson, Bradberry, Holmes, Harper, Ballentine, Love, Williamson, Dixon, Gano less then 25 players all the rest are trade chips or let’s go our separate ways. You’ve got 31 other teams PS to go shopping on without breaking the bank to see are they good enough to turn into NFL players. No longer concerned about wins and losses concerned with these guys learning and getting better each week at what they will be in the future.

I'm not sure you understand the COVID rules that well.
I don't think
Josh in the City : 10/5/2020 4:03 pm : link
anyone is insinuating that Corey Coleman is going to cure our offensive woes. However, he adds some useful traits that our current weapons simply lack - size and speed. I simply think it's worth a flier to see if he can help.
Hell, bring back
Gman11 : 10/5/2020 4:46 pm : link
Herman Moore. He's still available isn't he?
Curious About Coleman
Samiam : 10/5/2020 5:49 pm : link
Why hasnt Coleman been picked up by anybody? Especially with the ability to put him on the practice squad at a minimum. Guessing theres something off with him that hasnt been made public because he looked good in the limited training camp.
Cav anyone verify that there are other apparent issues?
Since1965 : 10/5/2020 7:05 pm : link
Or is it just conjecture at this point? I haven't read anything to indicate that he was any type of problem.

might still have something left in the tank

Pretty cryptic Fat Man. I guess I need to be hit over the head. Care to elaborate?
Coleman's speed was his main asset
Jay on the Island : 10/5/2020 8:41 pm : link
The knee injury reportedly affected his speed which eliminated his main value.
I hit enter too early
Jay on the Island : 10/5/2020 8:43 pm : link
The Giants would be better off giving Mack, Victor, Bachman, or Dillon a shot.
Not being able to see him in live action makes it tougher to evaluate
regulator : 10/5/2020 8:49 pm : link
as a fan... who knows how the ACL really is?

He didn't exactly have a stellar reputation coming here, either. It is certainly conceivable that something else is at play.

You should be banned for your rampant stupidity, you won't of course because you're the type of idiot this place loves to cater to now but you still know absolutely dog shit nothing about football. Remember when you whined about how bad Gilbride was? The guy who oversaw the best offensive stretch this team ever had? You remember that you spoiled no nothing little twat? Go follow another sport, this one is still way over your puny fucking head.

Nice post at 1am bud. Seems like you're off your meds again. Either that or you need to lay off the 30 pack of NATTY Light because you're a loose cannon and morph into this internet tough guy. Okay there, little Joey?

if there's this big dark secret about Coleman, why did they bring him to camp at all? Or if this issue came to a head during camp, why keep him until the very end of camp?
