That play had nothing to do with Allen. That was the qb, taking a bad snap, getting rushed immediately, escaping and throwing a laser that hit the receiver in the chest. Sometimes the qb needs to make a play under duress.
is throwing from a lot of clean pockets to much better players. We don't have anyone half as good as Keenan Allen. I'm not saying he isn't better than Jones, but I'd like to see a lot more of both before making any conclusions.
And as far as waiting until this year to draft Herbert, we had no way of knowing in 2019 whether he would have been available when we picked. He also could have gotten hurt during his last year at Oregon. That doesn't mean we should have drafted Jones, only that the reasons for not doing so could not include a desire to wait until this year to draft Herbert.
And guys like HJ45 told us to wait until teams had tape on him.
But for Herbert I guess that same maxim doesn’t apply??
I like Herbert and he looks good but when is the last time a giant receiver has run wide open down middle of field?
I thank you for the compliment. Was true, wasn't it.
Sure, same thing applies to Herbert. These are early returns. He seems to move as well as Danny Dimes and has more arm talent. We'll see how teams adjust once they have some tape on him.
we never saw Jones do this last year at all, not once
That’s probably the thing that annoys me the most. The feigned ignorance as if Jones literally never played well or showed anything. Combine that with people acting as if a shit o-line, complete inability to run the ball, and underwhelming skill position players are “an excuse”. It’s silly and foolish.
It is entirely possible or even likely That Herbert is and will be better than Jones in the long run. But Herbert looking good through his first few games doesn’t mean Jones is a bust. In fact, it is completely unrelated considering how different the two teams are in terms of overall talent.

Ask 32 GMs who they’d take right now - Herbert or Jones - and the votes would probably be 31-1.
Seriously. Guys, we all love the Giants but try to be objective. Herbert’s arm is much stronger and his release is much quicker. He’s a more polished player and has played in 1/4 of the games jones has.

That’s just an excuse, so I’ve been told. BTW, the Chargers have almost as many rushing yards so far as the Giants average in a full game and that’s with multiple backup linemen in.

Says the guy who has going 6-10. LOL.

Even worse, if you believe reports, Gettleman was high on Herbert, but then forced the Jones pick once Herbert stayed in school.

He just took a sack and didn't even look to throw the ball.
He's clearly a bust. Time for them to move on.
No fumbles too.

He lost the ball, but recovered it before it hit the ground.
Meanwhile our guy has now gone 4 full games without a passing or rushing TD. Feels like the Giants have turned into the Knicks.

He's just hoisting it up there but his recognition is so good he is successful anyway.
I know we think we're bad but some major mistakes on display here.
He’s almost as bad as Hilliman
