NGT: Dak’s injury explained...

trueblueinpw : 10/12/2020 10:53 pm
This doctor on YouTube breaks down the film and explains the injury to Dak’s ankle yesterday. It’s some pretty gruesome tape to watch but it’s also interesting to see the medicine and prognosis for treatment and recovery.

Didn’t see this at the time but Dak actually tries to reset his ankle himself. Tough man. Get well soon QB1.

*Be warned, there are several looks at the injury so not for the squeamish.*

Watched it live a few times. Never need to see that again. Hope Dak comes out of it 100% because that was horrifying.
I guess there’s an element of shock that sets in

with these types of injuries but some of these athletes are tough as nails.

Dak’s foot looked like a scene out of the exorcist and my take watching it live was as if he was sitting there with his shoe lace untied.
Years ago, I saw a man with a compound fracture ....

Right after he had rolled his pick-up into a deep gulley.

He had been thrown out of the vehicle and was just sitting there, waiting for the ambulance to come. He was clearly in shock, exhibiting NO pain as the bones protruded through the skin.

It's amazing what the human mind is capable of to protect
itself.

Yes, kind of explains the glass half-full takes on the games...
I noticed right away
Matt M. : 10/13/2020 1:38 am : link
that he seemed to try to re-set his ankle. Insane.
As soon as I saw...I knew what it was....

Same thing happened to me playing rugby.....the memory flashed back the instant it happened.

To be honest....I reset ankle while still on field

I guess its human nature....

There was no pain....just shock.

I had thought I destroyed my knee....but realizing it was my foot....i thought cool...and rotated my foot back into my ankle.

Doctor felt I minimized the damage that way.....

I agree. When I first saw it, I was like "Oh, his shoe came off". Then I looked again... gah
No thanks !

Reminds me of Saving Private Ryan when they're storming the beaches of Normandy and you see a soldier looking around for his arm
WOW

That was brutal but very well explained and I was actually upset about Dak's injury, I dont think he was crying on thr field because he was hurting. He was probably crying because he finally realized he should have signed his contract that was over 100 million dollars. If he cant return he has no income now he is on the tag.

Maybe this will be a lesson going forward to all NFL Players, GREED is NOT a good thing and the tag isnt a tool for you TO get more money. Im sure Dak is feeling pretty sTupid at this time

Wasn't the tag worth something like $35M
Rich Seubert had a spiral fracture of his lower leg
BlackLight : 10/13/2020 3:45 pm : link
as I recall. That's worse than a compound fracture, correct?
