Agree that it suggests accountability. I'm happy to see that. I also like it when they churn the bottom of the roster. If you have guys who are bad players, get rid of them and try someone else. Repeat until you find better guys. If you have starters who are playing badly, sit 'em down and try someone else. Repeat until you have guys who are consistently doing their jobs.
Ratley was supposed to be fast, didn't see much of it on the field
He didn't make it obvious and you could say he was running his route. Every single team in the NFL has the same thing and it looks the same. They only call it when the guy is obviously picking the DB/LB.
Having said that I don't care about Ratley, he sucked anyway

He dropped his shoulder and threw a block. It wouldn't have been called otherwise.

Agreed. I thought it was pretty clear-cut. Bad mistake and he paid for it.
Golden Tate is done. Gives team nothing. Need to put Engram in the slot and either play Smith and Tomlinson or Smith and Penny to improve the blocking.
Can’t seem to find what NFL game Austin Mack has played in for you to come to that conclusion.
What game has he played in to refute that conclusion?
This team leads the league in losses over the past 3+ years. Maybe we shouldn't be starting with a default value of star and working downward; try the opposite for now. It will mitigate the disappointment.

If anyone on the roster needs female fertility prescription drugs, Tate has the hookup.
Is the only guy they found wanting from five games of constant failures to perform their assignments? If your trying to make players accountable for errors damn how long is that list for this current bunch of not NFL worthy individuals.
Now they want to bring in taller versions of Shepard and Tate at least Ratley reportedly had some speed for sure we did not see it. If these PS guys were lacking to make our final 53 which is totally lacking overall talent it’s scary what they will bring to the field of play. We need WR’s that can separate from DB”s and make a defense afraid of them getting deep and actually catching the ball. If this staff scouts and coaches can’t identify that major problem and possible players what are we paying them for?
FYI there a kid on the Bucks PS named Josh Rosen hell let’s give him a roster spot just to see if he has any talent or maybe challenge or light a spark in DJ don’t think he’s much worried about McCoy. Look guys hold a PS and FA draft board you damn well know your players are very replaceable you still have have a season to groom new players.
up Mack is fine, but the Giants should strongly consider signing PS players from other teams instead of street FA like Harris and Coleman. The season is done.

If it makes you feel any better AD-Blaze, know that I'll be rooting for him. And watch, I bet he's going to explode for something like 3 targets, 1 catch, 9 yards, and I'm really going to feel like a jerk. Probably. But it's nothing personal against Austin.
I'm just preparing myself. For the disappointment.
I think that some of us here should have Romo,s job
(correct me if I am wrong), but I believe it was Ratley who Jones was throwing to inside the 5 yard line at the sideline when the ball was intercepted to end the game.
I mentioned immediately after that play that the WR was fading his route and did not work back towards the ball. He gave up the position to the CB.
Is the only guy they found wanting from five games of constant failures to perform their assignments?
Ballantine and YIadom got no defensive snaps on Sunday. Ratley isn't the only guy to be benched or cut; he's not even the first guy. He's the guy who got cut this time. I think there will be more, especially if the team keeps losing.
Was cut because he make a mistake nothing wrong with that but he’s on a long list for the Giants of players doing that. As for benching guys we have seen it in the secondary mostly but truth be told it’s team wide.

yes, let's just fucking wallow in the misery that is NYG football. it will never improve! Every thread, I sawy we all just condemn DG and the Giants. Because that's all that matters around here.
@TomRock_Newsday
Giants waived WR Damion Ratley, whose OPI penalty on Sunday cost them a TD.

Anyone who argued that "pick" wasn't obvious wasn't paying attention. Ratley absolutely blew that play for us!
May as well use Mack or the other kids.
We should be auditioning our guys now to see if we have any Slayton's in the fold.
Then we can see if they are worth developing.
Having said that I don't care about Ratley, he sucked anyway
Or worse.
Such is life with a roster of JAGs.

I quit getting excited about him coming back....I know what awaits him in 3-4 weeks subsequent.

Cutting Ratley puts to rest the speculation he didn't make a mistake.
What progress? He had five catches in eight games as a Giant.
Halloween is coming up, who is going as a ham?
