interview by Colombo. Some interesting stuff there especially on Hernandez. This guy seems like the right coach for our OL.
The stuff on Thomas was good to hear, the fact that he’s been bouncing back after bad reps and really taking to the coaching is a good sign, that and the fact that Colombo’s opinion is that he’s a great competitor and wouldn’t mince words to him about corrections is a nice change.
Interesting with Peart and Lemieux too, seems like we will be seeing a lot more of them especially Peart
Colombo pretty much said right away he thinks Thomas can be a dominating left tackle in this league, and has been improving his punch a lot as the games have gone on. The one big issue does far has been him getting beat inside, but he’s got the feet to correct this.
thought he didnt use any coach speak and was pretty straightforward with his assessment of AT. I wish they had asked him more about Some of the other OL.
People seem to be way too impressed with words in a press conference than results on the field. Why exactly does Colombo seem like the right coach? The line sure as hell isn't playing any better than last year.
Maybe he is! Not saying that he isn't. I'm keeping an open mind. I still don't know what would motivate you to say that today.
Colombo seems like a sincere guy, and I hope he succeeds. There wasn’t anything that interesting about Thomas in that interview IMV. He’s a rookie, he’s making a bunch of mistakes, the coaches have to push the right buttons with him.
Colombo has as much to prove as the offensive line coach as a lot of the players. He inherited an A+ group of talent when he got promoted to the top gig in Dallas, and the only real development required was with Connor Williams. And the biggest challenge was when Fredrick was out sick and Looney stepped in played decently.
I really liked hearing him talk about AT's struggles with inside moves. He pointed out that everyone in the league can see those struggles on tape, and that AT knows that unless and until he shows he can shut it down he's going to be seeing those moves regularly. Coach as teacher. What we need.
Thomas is CONSISTENTLY bad who lacks good technique
He not only struggles on inside moves but also outside moves.
It's only 5 games but our number 4 draft pick was outplayed by 2 UDFA tackles on the Cowboys OL Sunday.
after all we have gone through the last 8 years at LT it makes Giant fans worry that we have another number 1 draft bust.

He hasn't stuck his leg out to try and trip anyone yet soo I'm hopeful. I'm also hopeful Colombo can bring what has made the Dallas front so stout the last 5+ years to our line. I don't think it will happen overnight but I've seen glimmers of progress so fingers crossed. With the lack of success we've had with 1st roudners and OL yes you get worried. Its 5 games with no preseason. He's had some pretty stiff competition from the get go with no let up in the next couple of weeks. In fact I think the only time he would have an easy go of it is against our DL. We've started to get some gains with inside runs. And though he has given some sacks and pressure he isn't an automatic ole and he doesn't give up on his blocks for the most part. So, again, hopeful.
takes to coaching and is wanting to improve but my question is after reading these threads, reading Sy's reviews and listening to this interview is....
Is NOT the uncoachable asshole that Flowers was. Thomas is VERY COACHABLE is only 21 years old. I actually think Colombo is probably a great guy to develop him.
Why would you ever want a coach to do that?
You know who didn’t give “coach speak” - McAdoo. And you all lost your shit over it.
Some guys need a pat on the back and others need a kick in the ass. Mr. Thomas seems to be in the latter group.
There is some interesting info. I like Marc as a coach.
Not only that, but 10 years from now, we'll be regaled with stories of McAdoo resigning because the Giants wouldn't pick Mahomes
The comments are at the beginning of the video. The first three questions are about Thomas.

I thought he sounded sincere and his comments were very enlightening.

Stan, did you actually listen? Because it sounds like you didn't.

Kick in the ass? He gets that every Sunday.

And yes - maybe the rose colored glasses but his answers on Thomas and Hernandez, and the unit in general, give me some hope.
Then again I am one who thinks the real measure of this new OL was going to be 2021...but I get people not being able to be patient.

Is Thomas any good?
But no one has any patience for such things.
