All time, it's Madden and Summerall. Right now, I'd go with Harlan and Schlomo. Tony can tell you the play before it happens. You learn a bunch listening to him.
Al Michaels, Frank Gifford and Dan Dierdorff
Dick Enberg and Dan Dierdorff (I guess I'm a Dierdorff fan)
Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts
Greg Gumbel and Phil Simms
Jim Nantz and Tony Romo
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman
and Keith Jackson were the two best football (college) announcers ever. Nelson did NFL games until about 1981, but his college work was by far, his best.
For the NFL, I have to go with Dick Enberg and Howard Cosell. This is all about personal preference. I loved Madden/Summerall, but they broadcast 5 years too long. There is a huge delta between them in their prime and what football fans got in their final years.
Honorable mention to Dandy Don Meredith and Jim Nantz. The best up and coming NFL guy has to be Tony Romo. Also looking forward to seeing what Greg Olsen can do. He was very good in a couple of announcing gigs, but he decided to return to play for the Seahawks. He has a bright future in the booth...
I love Papa and Banks and Howard Cross driven by the Hess toy truck and brought to me by Peerless boilers.
Growing up, Dick Lynch and Dave Jennings with Papa were so great! Dick Lynch was such a fan and always told you exactly what was on his mind. Nobody knew more about the rules of the game than Jennings. That was my all time favorite radio crew.
I also like Kevin Harlin on radio with Kurt Warner. Thought they were really good together.
TV? Today? I like Aikman and while I don’t love Buck, I think he and Troy are a good crew and always seem like the “big game” crew.
but I don't get how people can stand listening to Collinsworth, let alone actually like it. Al Michaels is pretty good IMHO, but I never hear him because Collinsworth is an instant mute situation.
echo the sentiment of Kevin Harlan and Kurt Warner on radio. They did Monday night's game of Saints/Chargers. Terrific together, and Harlan is the best in the business as far as I'm concerned.

That video is fantastic haha. Thanks for sharing that.
Was the best announcer. He did primarily Packers games but eventually was paired with Pat Summerall as the marquee national team. What made him great was use of a minimum number of words to describe the action. He never added a bunch of non football crap.
Another favorite would be Chris Schenkel who was an early announcer of Giants games.

Marty Glickman was tremendous...I agree.
Currently

^ Seconded.
I’ll add
Michaels and Madden
Gruden and Tirico
Currently I like Michaels and Collinsworth best, followed by Nantz and Romo. Can’t stand Joe Buck at all, and Aikman grates on my nerves.
