NFT: Anthony Davis to opt-out and sign new deal with LAL

Mistake on his part
GMEN46 : 10/15/2020 2:52 pm : link
Lebron will not be able to keep this up at this level much longer and when the athleticism slows down he is not a good enough shooter to be super relevant. I know he has been awesome but lakers have no talented young assets and are missing most of their picks, the last 3 years for AD in LA with that Lebron contract will be tough.

Don't worry, Zion or Giannis will demand a trade to us at some point.
Thank God

Next step is line up Lebron's superstar longterm replacement so his contract plugs in 2-3 years.
Knicks fans should be inspired by the Lakers.

Went from no playoffs to championship in a year. Why couldn't the Knicks do that?
Cool

I think Lebron will be just fine. And the Lakers always get star players. They will have a chance to reload next offseason with a good amount of cap space.

I for one am just shocked he didn't want to come to the Knicks...

Do you think Harden gets traded? I'm not sure how else they "blow it up" unless they move him.

I do think they shop Harden. Their pick situation is unbelievably bleak. He's polarizing but also a franchise changer.

Based on what? LeBron just averaged damn near a triple double (29.8 / 11.8 / 8.5) in the finals and won finals MVP. Their window is open for at least another 2 years.

Their biggest threat is not his age, it is a healthy Golden State team and the Clippers. Although I think it was a mistake by Kawhi to demand Paul George. Dude is a choke artist in the playoffs.
If the Rockets
GGGGmen : 10/15/2020 3:35 pm : link
trade Harden they are instantly irrelevant and bad.

Their owner is not allowing that.

how is it a mistake to sign with the team that can offer him the most money, is the defending champs, and what plays in what might be the league's most attractive market? Oh, and he also has one of the best 1-3 players who ever lived already on the team? And if LeBron slows down, the Lakers have proven for the last 40+ years they attract stars like no other franchise in the sport.

Kawhi could be sipping champagne right now if he wanted. Would have been fun seeing LeBron, AD, Kawhi vs a healthy Warriors team.
LeBron, AD and Kawhi together would NOT be fun
GGGGmen : 10/15/2020 3:40 pm : link
they would steamroll the entire league.
oh thank heavens

I was worried the Lakers would catch the first bad break during their existence. The world can go on spinning again.
This was widely expected
Stan in LA : 10/15/2020 4:14 pm : link
Player opt out after next season, same as LeBron. Their contracts now coincide.
Not seeing this in print anywhere

You mean like Stern killing the Chris Paul deal?
