If 0-16, season ticket holders should be able to opt out

but I'll straight up walk away from my PSLs before I endure another season of paying more than my tickets are worth on the secondary market.

It's not like I could sell the PSL for more than $100-$200 each anyway (I paid $4,000).

But the Giants did right by the fans in 2020. Hopefully they'll be kind in '21.

You are paying to attend a football game. I see nothing that guarantees wins.

I had tickets for 32 seasons while Giants Stadium was open. So I have been through some miserable seasons.

how much of a premium should you expect to pay for the following year's tickets? Would you object if they trebled or quadrupled your assessment?

Are you saying that you can't walk away from being a season ticket holder? You're obligated for eternity to pay and go? Or, is their a contract that requires you to be a season ticket holder for a specified duration?

The Giants aren’t requiring payment for the 2020 season from season ticket holders. So I don’t even know what the OP is talking about. If we go 0-16 and he’s had enough he can just forfeit his PSL. Maybe I’m reading it wrong but is the OP suggesting he should keep his PSL and not pay until they win again?

My understanding is if you do not buy season tickets, you forfeit the PSL. The PSL is transferable though

They built the stadium at just the right time. Could you imagine them trying to sell PSLs if they built it over the past couple years?

Under PSL agreement, holders are required to purchase tickets each year or lose their PSL. The organization waived this requirement for 2020. Not sure they waive it going forward should fans be allowed to attend next season.

So in your eyes, would it have been fair for ownership to double the price after the superbowl years?

As a STH I can refuse to pay for a season ticket but I forfeit my $4000 per seat PSL I paid, forever. The PSL gave us the right to purchase seasons tickets and the rights to our specific seats for as long as the stadium stands. Nothing more.

Jolly Blue, you obviously don't remember that up until the new stadium was built there was a waitlist of over 30,000 to get a season ticket. I had been on the list for 20 years when my number came up in 2009 and I had over 6500 people still ahead of me on the list still, after 20 years. The new stadium is the only reason I have been a STH for 10 years.

Trust me, as awful as this team has been, if they built it 3 years ago, they would have had no problem selling PSL's. There are enough fools like me who live and die every Sunday to see their team live, not on TV.

Has three bad things going for it for STH - PSLs, the team sucks and perhaps most importantly it opened just as the secondary market for tickets was really being completely revolutionized.

I remember being a kid and if you knew someone who had Giants tickets it was like they were in an exclusive club, because for outsiders like us there really wasn’t a way to get a ticket unless a current STH invited you, gave you tickets, etc.

Now I can go to any game I want, thousands of seats available, can decide on Saturday or even Sunday morning depending on weather and what else you have going on.

Question for current STH - are you able to sell many games for at or above face value? Or at least near face value? Or are you having to eat a significant chunk for most games?

I too was on that list and my number was about to come up. I wrote a hand written letter to get on that list. The thing is, there was no PSL. With the PSL, there is no list. In fact, they just won a super bowl and couldn’t sell them.

The PSL's certainly makes thing a bit different than just walking away from, say, Knicks tickets, but anyone who bought them knew what they were getting into. So many tickets being available is a direct result of the team sucking though. If the team was a regular playoff contender of the last 10 years, the market for tickets would a LOT smaller and overpriced.

As a season ticket holder I was able to sell my tickets above face value every year except the last 2 :(. Best return was 2011 playoff game and the first couple of games in 2012.

As a STH one of my biggest issues has always been STH that bought their PSL and tickets and immediately tried to sell them for the best price. It is one (not the only) reason we See a bunch of passed out drunks and worse, Eagles, Cowboy fans, etc. each game.

I scalped tickets for 20 years at the old stadium and there were far less idiots and opposing teams fans than there are now. It is certainly your right to sell but a big reason why we complain about not having much of a home field advantage. NOW DOWN IN FRONT!

I am soooo glad I sold my PSLs at face value 4 years ago.
