I guess the Draft for us is all about Daniel Jones:
If he plays well ... it means we will have 4-5-6 wins
Between pick 7 and 10
Range
Micah Parsons
Patrick Surtain
Caleb Farley
Dylan Moses
or trade down for Creed Humphrey
but trade down won't give us lots of picks
============================================================
If he plays ok ... it means 3-4 wins
Between pick 4 and 6
Range
Penei Sewell
Justin Fields
Gregory Rousseau
Ja'Marr Chase
Trey Lance
Micah Parsons
Trade down potential is incredible... but at the same time Sewell may be too good to pass, Rousseau could help pass rush and Chase may be a great 1st weapon with Slayton
============================================================
If he plays awful ... it means 0-1-2 wins
Between pick 1 and 3
Range
Trevor Lawrence (no brainer or mega mega returns of draft capital, Herschel Walker kind of trade)
Penei Sewell (at #2 or #3 I would take him)
Justin Fields (if we think Jones is not the man... we can select him at 2 or 3)
Gregory Rousseau (I would take him at 3 if Sewell is gone at 2)
Ja'Marr Chase (would be great with Slayton but would select Rousseau before him)
Trey Lance (trade down from 3 to 4-5-6 to get him if we really need to replace Jones and we think he would be better than Fields).
Yes you do but there was someone a week or two ago that was sticking with 9. :)
I realize he's without Shepard and Barkley and that his OL is garbage, but he's been alarmingly bad and was being outplayed this season by Haskins before he was demoted.
If this continues the Giants will absolutely get the 1 or 2 pick and should strongly consider taking a QB

some reason pff has jones rated pretty well currently. I have no idea what they base it off of. They also had Haskins in the dumpster this yr. They got that one right.

I agree, he doesn't fit this offense. But he isn't the only personnel that doesn't fit..Which begs the question why Garrett is who they brought in?
But maybe we beat the Redskins? Maybe?
Maybe the Bengals? Maybe the Cardinals?
Put it this way, if the Giants lose to Washington this weekend, it's not likely - IMO - that they get more than 2 wins this season.
Each ran his respective route exactly towards a STATIONARY Cowboy in a zone look, slowed down when they got there and then looked back at the pocket to see what Jones was doing. Not joking either, each Cowboy barely moved.
Not defending Jones here, but this was ridiculous.

I'm definitely cynical but I believe Garrett was brought in because 1) he has NFL HC and it was thought that would be valuable for first-year NFL HC Judge, 2) he was with the Boys prior so hiring him was viewed as giving the Giants a divisional advantage, 3) he was a former Giant.
He sure as heck wasn't hired for his OC abilities given that he hadn't called plays since like 2014.

And we still would not get the first pick in the draft.
Take a look at the Jets' schedule. Barring some team getting destroyed with injuries, they're almost a lock for 0-16.

Thank you for posting this. I saw the same thing, which is just one of many reasons I’m not holding DJ responsible for this year. On a side note, I really wish they would bring up Bachman and cut Tate. I think he would fight more...Tate looks done.
Quote:
he has 2 TD passes on the season, both in week one, and one of those was in garbage time. Projecting his stats based on the first five games, he's on pace for 7 TDs this season and has been a turnover machine every bit as bad as last year.

Judge and Garrett both indicated that they would fit the scheme to the personnel’s skills on the team, excentuate what they do well in essence. If what your saying is true then they are not being true to their word. I for one haven’t seen that. I see an offense that’s struggling because they have no real threats at WR, other then Slayton and he’s been inconsistent, no RB threat and a TE that, when targeted, sometimes drops the ball. Additionally, you have an Oline that is still struggling to Pass Block well enough for a young QB to go through his progressions. He’s being rushed and I think has done what he can given the circumstances. I would like to see him take off more, but slide of course. We don’t need any injuries like Dak just received.
By that logic, Justin Herbert's performance this season is even more incredible - he should be an MVP candidate by the second half of the year.
Or we can maybe realize that these guys have been playing football all their lives, that the Coryell offense isn't dramatically different than the Cutcliffe offense, that a guy who went to Duke and was drafted #6 overall is supposed to have a shorter learning curve.
This wasn't supposed to be like grooming a raw project. I recognize that DJ is dealing with his second system in as many years, but it's not like he's learning a new sport. He looks lost out there.
