all the power to you.

I saw a team get completely owned on time of possession with the game on the line and a re-tread backup QB jam it down their throats in what should have tied the game up.

That’s not the kind of win I want to lose Trevor Lawrence for and the game last year wasn’t the kind of win I would lose out on Chase Young for.

If they can build on this great. I doubt they will though

For a guy that loves to stick his chest out and proclaim himself to anyone that will listen that he’s an “analytics expert”, I’d think you’d know that in today’s NFL that time of possession couldn’t be any more meaningless. You’re seriously using TOP in this day and age?

Please don’t send your resume in to Eric again because I questioned your knowledge. He’s got better things to do.

If anyone has an agenda it’s you this is just a massive reach of a post.

A. Where did I talk about at all what correlates to wins? I talked about how the win should feel and it doesn’t feel good to watch a team control the ball and methodically march it down the field against our only competent unit

B. While some people get their panties in a twist about me trying to stop someone acting in low integrity be my guest. But I will unapologetically curb shitty behaviors in whatever ways I can. When someone wants to follow you around just spouting hate and bullshit I’m going to try as many different ways to curb it as possible. And again, the only reason my credentials ever came into question was I was told the things I was clearly seeing about the Giants weaknesses before many on this board I couldn’t possibly know. And as you can see it’s people like you continue to bring it up despite the fact that what I’ve said has proven to be quite accurate

Gotta hope the Redskins can at worst split with the Lions and Bengals the next 2 games for them. BUT most important, the Jets have to get a win somewhere along the way. This race isn't over yet. The NYG have to lose the next time they meet up in DC with this team though.

The Jets are getting the #1 pick regardless of what we do. I looked at their schedule and they will be lucky to avoid 0-16

Typical Giants luck

They were never getting the first pick 🤡

I agree with this. The GIants were always going to play hard for a first year coach in Joe Judge and get maybe 3-5 wins. The Jets quit on Adam Gase in preseason and most likely are going 0-16 having traded, released or placed all their good players on IR
Jets remaining schedule:
dpinzow : 10/18/2020 9:39 pm : link
Buffalo
@ Kansas City
New England
@ LA Chargers
Miami
Raiders
@ Seattle
@ LA Rams
Cleveland
@ New England

Maybe they get lucky and Cleveland lays an egg or they beat Miami at home, but they are staring at 0-16
LOL..

"low integrity"??

Let's see. A poster sent in their resume to the site owner and threatened slander. Clueless that one can't slander an anonymous person.

Yet, this poster with high integrity" went on LinkedIn to question the credentials of Tyseer Siam, used his actual name here, and repeatedly said the guy in unqualified.

The irony is so rich there. With that poster of such high integrity.
Listen, now that we've won a game, I think the best thing
dpinzow : 10/18/2020 9:45 pm : link
is to pull for them to win the next 2 or 3. If they're 1-7 or 1-8 after the next 2 or 3 games then we get the highest possible draft pick. The effort level is there, the talent level is not. I think we're on the right track with the coaching and competitiveness; we just need a GM who can properly evaluate talent so this rebuild can finally be accomplished. With the proper talent evaluation, you can go from being like this to competitive in one season

Well said. I’ll add to that develop talent. I’d like to see if Judge and Co. can develop the drafted players. I think that’s been sorely lacking over the past two regimes and probably back into Coughlin’s early 2010s. Maybe the luck changes with this regime.
I see nothing wrong with wanting the Giants to tank for Lawrence
GeofromNJ : 10/18/2020 10:36 pm : link
Fans who do this want the Giants to be contenders for years to come, not mediocre or average for years to come. And they also don't want either another NFC East team or the Jets to land a talent like Lawrence.

I think there is something wrong with ever tanking, that is from a fan and player perspective. AS a player, tanking gets people hurt. As a fan, it just adds to misery.

turned what would have been a terrible loss into a win. That and Riverboat Ron who had a good game until that two point conversion. Although, I thought "Oh shit" when I heard they were going for two.

Win Thursday any which way and I'll be ecstatic.

What excuse? We won the game

I’m highlighting that 1) it wasn’t about a bad decision but rather bad execution on a throwaway.

And 2) that it was a bad call by the refs which was painfully obvious to almost everybody.

Either way we won the game so I’m not really making any excuses not am I whining

But thanks.

The excuse you are making is excusing the fact DJones executed terribly his throwaway.

You understand what a throwaway is, right?

He could've thrown the ball sidelines. He could have buried the ball in the ground.

Instead he threw high pop which allowed the refs to make a decision. How is that you can't understand this?

I get it that we won. But you understand that this is a discussion board, right? And it's okay even after wins to point out mistakes b our team, right?

How is backpedaling with someone in your face resulting in throwing up a high pop while forcing the refs to decide rather than throwing it to the sidelines or bury the ball in the ground a smart play? You're "excusing" it by saying we won and/or the refs blew it. But it was still a combination of horribly executed and stupid to throw it out of the end zone instead of sidlelines or to the ground.

I don't know. We had 5 people in the room watching the game and they had a freeze-frame of the elbow hitting the white and each of us said it was going to be overturned. I thought it was really clear.

But my larger point is that the who conclusive criteria is applied inconsistently. There was no visual evidence to overturn Crowder's INT, but they did anyway. Even on the play you mentioned with Allen stretching the ball out, it looked like his butt or hip could have been down - and I was surprised it was overturned. But at least there was evidence the ball crossed the line.

Agree on the inconsistency. As for the INT, I thought he landed in on the live speed. Slow motion looked like it may have been on the line. Either way, I really don't think there was enough to overturn the call.

But, I agree 100% with Crowder's INT and the challenge today.

Everybody is looking at his elbow on that int... It wasn't his elbow that came down first, if you watch carefully it was his forearm/wrist, and it was clearly in bounds.

for thinking Freeman simply runs smoother and picks better spots than Saquon does? Barkley's athleticism is off the charts, but Freeman is playing with the same team as Saquon and just looks better. Or maybe he's just better at making more of out of less?

Wish there was a site that tracked this stuff, but I'm guessing teams have used less stacked boxes with Barkley out. Probably fewer run blitzes as well. But that's conjecture on my part.

see this is what happens when you come into a conversation mid way and try to be tough guy.

I was responding to posters who said JOnes made a bad decision trying to get the ball to Slayton. It wasn't a bad decision in that he was trying to complete a pass, it was bad execution on a throwaway.

so we agree... I am just not going to define the kids entire day by that one badly executed throwaway.

It can still be a bad decision/bad execution and an erroneous call by the refs that tangibly hurt us. The two are not mutually exclusive and I am not completely sure (although a I have strong suspicions) why some people can't understand that.
