Anyone notice the play clock was at zero

Bleedblue10 : 10/18/2020 11:37 pm
For at least 2 seconds before the ball was snapped on Washington’s lalmost tying TD? I’m no conspiracy theorist cause frankly I don’t believe in that crap but w/ last weeks weird calls and the int and the play clock today it just seems like we can’t catch a break with the refs lately. Guess we have to earn the benefit of the doubt before we get it
They talked about this on the post-game WFAN show

...You see that in lots of games almost every week.

The way refs enforce it, once it goes to zero you get almost another second because the back judge watches the clock, when it hits zero he then checks to see if the ball has been snapped. If it's in the process of getting snapped, he won't throw the flag.

It's dumb. Zero is zero, but that's how they do it. It's not an anti-Giants thing.
I never understood why the NFL
larryflower37 : 10/19/2020 12:07 am : link
Has not installed a busser and/or a flashing light like in the NBA.
Even a buzzer on the referees radio
It's ridiculous that in 2020 someone has to watch a clock and then look at the snap .

I have heard and understand that. The clock was zero for nearly 2 seconds.

Fuck the officials.

The interception was out of bounds.
The clock
darren in pdx : 10/19/2020 2:27 am : link
was on zero for at least two seconds, I was shocked there was no flag and assumed that maybe the clock shown on TV was wrong? I thought at least one defensive player pointed at the clock before they snapped as well.

But after they called that an interception on something that was conclusive to overturn and the overturn in the Dallas game that was inconclusive, why am I even surprised..
totally, I was pissed the refs didn't blow the whistle

I watched it on YouTube and it was snapped 3 full seconds after the play clock expired

According to FBI Statistics, most Federal crimes are indeed done by groups of people in secrecy. So, technically, most Federal crimes are conspiracies.

The problem is, the word was hijacked to mean "fake" and generally stops discussion.

Interesting reply regarding the clock and line judge though.
I think it was 1 full second
RetroJint : 10/19/2020 6:27 am : link
At 000. As for uniform application , I remember Jones getting whistled a few times right at 000. And Fuller’s. elbow did hit the end line . What this means is Judge has to start arguing more with the officials . He probably thinks that until yesterday he had yet to win a game as HC so he lacked standing to complain . His rationale that he needs to coach his guys better so they clearly win the play is noble but unrealistic . There are a ton of tight calls made that can go either way.

It’s obvious the officials in the league are very comfortable making calls that go against the Giants . Start arguing Judge . You get no points for manners in the NFL.

That is how the NFL does it. But that did seem more than a beat. I was at a funeral and only saw the replay and noticed it right away. Seemed an excessive amount of leniency, but not the 1st time I'd seen it allowed to go that long.
The NFL has really struggled putting out a quality

product with Covid. The reffing is garbage all over the league. Calling a fumbling in the SF/Rams game last night was example of how pathetic the reffing is.

Then there is the actual coverage of the games which is just as bad. Terrible camera work. Terrible replays or lack there off. Just a Garbage product this year.
I think Washington covered the point spread
US1 Giants : 10/19/2020 8:00 am : link
by way of the refs not calling delay of game on that play.

Pics are all over twitter. After they stole 2 TD's on us vs Dallas, they tried to steal another one. The Washington Teams CB was 5000% out of bounds, his elbow was so crystal clear in the white, its embarrassing.
I don't get it
giantfan2000 : 10/19/2020 9:11 am : link
why don't they just put the clock countdown in the ref's ear when it hits zero and alarm .. play over .. very easy .
I'd actually like to see the play clock go into the negatives
jhibb : 10/19/2020 9:28 am : link
It would be interesting to be able to clearly see how often the ball isn't snapped until -1 is shown.
I'm pretty sure this would have been one of those times.

While I agree it was late based on the tv clock, I'm pretty sure your internal clock is fast. There's no way that was three full seconds after it showed zero.

I am not defending the officials, but 3 seconds? I'd say it was more like 1 second. Still should have been a flag.
