My two cents.....

George from PA : 10/19/2020 7:10 am
Although, not losing feels better then losing.....this team still has aways to go before competing with the big boys.

But I do feel we are heading in the right direction....i like what I see from Judge. I also like what i am seeing from Graham and the defense.

Eventhough, the defense is still shorthanded.....another corner and a monster edge....should have them playing at a very high level.

The offense is now the problem child..it seems that Shurmurs offense was better then Garrett, but do we stay the course or make another change?

There is still a ton questions with Daniel Jones...something I love about him and somethings are so infuriating !!!!..

The OL still have issues. Strangely, I feel they have the players but growth, improvement and gelling is what is needed....i am no expert but I like Thomas, Peart and Gates and expect so much more fron Zeitler and Hernandez.

Losing Barkley was a major blow as he was the bell cow and the offense was built around him.

The WRs are anemic ...Sterling once is unavailable. Tate is invisible. Engram is an enigma and too much is put on Slayton.

Now, I do not have the hate toward DG as everyone else has, but its a results business and will totally understand going in another direction.

I can also argue sone stability would make a ton of sense. Its not like DG works in a bubble or has a ton of say....he seems to be a coaches GMs.....trying to get the players the coaches want....

Sure....they are short on talent and mistakes were done but everytime a coaching staff changes....there is a massive upheaval on the roster....

Some of the coaching decisions were odd.....Devon? i feel cutting Connelly and C.Coleman were mistakes ....Baker issue and Beal and Solders decision did not help.

Here is my take

Stability is needed.

I feel Judge is in charge. He has a strong persona....and will dictate what gets done with all aspects...including personal. Lets do what he wants....Stay the course!

Now, in reference to Gettleman.
I am not a DG apologist nor do I strongly care what is done with him...as I am not sure how much power he wheels.

Its DG 3rd year....made a ton of "mistakes" as well as some wins.

But his hatred reminds me of how I manage my wifes fantasy team....all is fine if she win....but when she loses...."why did I do that....why didn't you play him....what were you thinking"

Lets review some of DG "mistakes":

Solder was a major mistake....but what alternative did he have? Who was playing LT?

Drafting Daniel Jones at 7...picking Haskin seems to be a bigger mistake....sure Jeff Allen....but then no Dexter Lawrence? Even Leonard Williams mistake.....is one of the few bright spots on the team.

Hiring Shurmur as head coach was a mistake....but Shurmur as OC would have been fine and the staff Shurmur hired seems to be the bigger mistake....and getting all those players they wanted....was also mistakes.

So its not that simple....

So my take....stay the course....lead by Judge.

A couple of weeks ago, the way they fought tough

I felt like they could actually get a few Divisional victories...after the last two games we will be lucky to tie Washington. Don't know if I can handle Thursday's coming loss to the Eagles. :(

Could go south very quickly Thursday night.

Very.
Wins and loses is less concerning...to me

What I want to see

OL improvement with both Peart and Thomas playing.

Daniel Jones improvement

Defense playing fast controling tempo

See what the practice squad WRs offer

Agree on 1 and 2. 3 I want them to make a stop when they have to at the end of the game or half. And 4 I don't care about PS players. We can't get our top 3 round players to play at a high level yet.
Who do you mean by top 3?
George from PA : 10/19/2020 9:23 am : link
Barkely, Jones and Thomas?

Thomas, McKinney and Peart?

Sterling, Tate and Engram?

We have a ton of options and even more questions...lol
Gates seems to be improving

I watch some of the holes freeman is seeing and I just smh, saquon had none. We would definitely have a few home runs already if he was there.
May an improved oline, saquon and some actual wr talent in 2021 will let us see if jones is gonna be the future. Obviously yr 3 is gonna be make or break with him
I am seeing too many red zone hiccups, that needs to be cleaned up,,preferably Soon.
yesterday's game was unsatisfying because the Redskins beat themselves
Eric on Li : 10/19/2020 1:06 pm : link
that's still a sign of progress because we didn't beat ourselves, and winning games you aren't necessarily supposed to win is a trait that any team needs to develop.

but the more important thing to see is the offense actually win a game and put points up consistently. Not go on long tiresome drives that end in FG's or turnovers without even taking shots in the end zone. I don't buy the excuse that they need to be cautious bc Jones throws RZ interceptions because:

a) I believe he had very good RZ efficiency numbers last year
b) His RZ INT's this year happened because he got hit and should have done a better job throwing the ball away or just taken the sacks, not because he made poor reads on the coverage
The diffrence w Freeman and Barkley was on full display yesterday
Bleedblue10 : 10/19/2020 1:18 pm : link
On one hand freeman hits the hole and gets all the yards that are there, on the other hand some of those holes would have been huge runs if Barkley was the one running the ball. I remember watching at least 2 that I said to myself “Saquon is out right there”
The DG hate is well deserved

We're football fans and as the OP has said- DG has made a ton of bad moves. What if you had no confidence in him early on and you thought his moves early on were blunders? You're supposed to give him a hug?

For example asking "what would you have done instead of Solder?"-- We do know some answers to that. There were moves discussed on here many times. I offered one during FA in that I would have taken 2 young OLinemen realizing they might bust but in rebuild you go with patience, right? Then in rd 2 I offered I would have taken SY's guy. ALso discussed on here is that you also could have taken Nelson and built from there- ergo- rd 2 also taking SY's guy. And trading down not an option? Or in re build just get a cheap guy or make a trade - and try for a "flyer?"

And instead of Solder- as so many on here who defend him say - preach- "we need patience." When the team is supposed to suck we're all of a sudden not supposed to be patient any more?

And completely not understanding how bad his team was is should not be acceptable. That team was going to suck and the GM was just incompetent not to see it until it was too late. Yet he gets kudos for being stupid early because after this slow mind figured it out he began his rebuild? Then he goes again losing "patience" in 2019 and gets Tate?

So as fans we're not supposed to have some "hate?" Those of us that we're right form the beginning and have characterized by many on here as "haters' "miserable" etc aren't supposed to be able to express some hate?????

Especially that you had another contingent on here that said "ofc he is rebuilding. You think as a GM he is telling you the truth?" SO you had one nut contingent thinking GMEN would be probably be good and another DG cheerleading group saying he ofc he's in rebuild but he would never say it publicly. All the while both sides characterize those of us that were right as "personally miserable people" etc. OS yet we're not supposed to show any iota of hate?
