I rewatched the game and focused on the OL and Gates was really very good. Two plays really stand out. One I think was a draw play to Freeman, and Gates absoultely crushed hsi guy about three yards into the nback field and absolutely pancacked hi, The other was the block on Collins on the run play by Freeman that the Schlereth went nuts over. Showed really good mobility getting. I also didn't see any pressures he gave up, which was impressive considering that Allen and Payne are pretty good players.
that is a good start. i like him too.
this team, as a whole, was not going to hit its stride until week 6. it looks like its starting to come around. 1 thing I hope changes under Judge is player development.
Other than being late for a meeting, what were Thomas issues yesterday?
Outside of the third and 1 run play, he played real well yesterday. Gave up zero sacks, zero pressures and was moving his guy off the line in the run game. He missed one block.
What he lacks in athleticism, he makes up for in toughness.
this is an overstatement. there were some on here who thought he showed well at the guard-tackle spots and should play there with pulley at C. gates would be a better RT than fleming. i don't remember anyone on here outright trashing gates as a player.

by the armchair BBI GMs who hate everything about this franchise now so this can't be true.

Of course people were trashing him as a player. Hell, in the first have of the Dallas game, people complained that we didn't select the C out of Wisconsin and instead are stuck with a stiff at the position. I don't see that as a compliment
Yeah, that Dallas OL looks great! In what ways is he contributing? He's started one game.
Silly comments abound, I see.
The only reason he stepped foot onto the field for Dallas is because their OL has been decimated by injuries. La'El Collins, Tyron Smith, Joe Looney, and Cam Erving are all on IR.

And Giants would love to have Biadasz out of Wisconsin. Good player already contributing to Dallas team. Silly comment.

Not clearly.

So what? How’s he doing in your view?
